Little Memeyd
That’s how Sandy pronounces her favorite Disney movie. The Little Mermaid is Harry Potter’s replacement. We play this movie whenever we need to distract her so I can leave the room (why do I always have to leave?) or convince her to eat or sit still for about 10 minutes.
She loves the theme song and sings it like this -
Sandy: Look at this stop. Isinitnit. Wudeyabin collections complete. Wudaya am da gel, everything.
(Look at this stuff, isn’t it neat? Wouldn’t you think my collections complete? Wouldn’t you think I’m the girl, the girl who has everything)
She also narrates the scenes to me as if I’m not watching.
“Mommy! Look! Little memeyd is sad.”
“Little memeyd is happy. Not sad anymore”
“The dog is dancing with Papa (Prince Eric)” (King Triton is also her Papa)
“She’s going to sing!”
“The boat mommy! Isss going to rain. Tander! Layting!” (thunder! lightning!) (scene where the boat is about to sink)
Little Mermaid is also one of my favorite movies, next to Aladdin of course. Which is why I’m glad to see that Sandy likes it as well. When she gets older, perhaps we can watch “The Little Mermaid” play.

i am a big fan of little mermaid!! you can ask charlie how i love to watch that dvd over and over again..before miguel was born! scared kasi ako na mapasa ko sa kanya ang aking arielle mania! kaya nga pag me bakasyon, 1st stop lagi si arielle sa disney!!
