Sandy’s School

This is her school. She loves to pretend that she’s going to school by getting any bag near her and kissing everyone goodbye.

This wall used to be covered with manila paper so Sandy can draw on them. Now, it’s covered with ABCs, Numbers, Shapes and Colors posters. It’s her favorite hang out and when I have time (which is so rare), I sit with her and teach her. She knows all of them by heart except for O and Q; she gets confused all the time LOL. There was even this one time when she wanted to be the teacher. She kept on asking me, “Mommy what shape is this?”. I saw from the corner of my eye that she was pointing on the farthest left so I said circle. She repeated the question a couple of times, which if you know her at all, would mean that she’s not satisfied with my answer. I kept saying circle without even looking. When she can’t take it anymore, she corrected me in a very calm voice, “No, that’s a diamond.” I looked up and she’s right. In my defense, I wasn’t really looking when she pointed to the diamond shape. Serves me right for pretending to listen.

She has a classmate of course and her name is Bebus.

After going to school for 10 minutes, she will then make a mess in the same hallway by cooking in her kitchen or placing lampins and bedsheets on the floor so her baby dolls can sleep.

naku joy, i think you have to send sandy na to school. based on your kwento and pictures, i think she’s ready. dear, wag lang siguro too structured/traditional (gosh, i’m talking as if i’m the expert, which i am definitely not!)

hahaha! Si B.boy naman EGG and tawag sa Letter O. Nung kinorek namin natuto naman pero ngayon letter O naman and tawag nya sa 0 (zero). Nga naman kakalito eh.

I like what you did to your space. Kami rin marami nang chart and it really helps in teaching kids. :) Btw, how old was Sandy when she started talking na talaga?

Joy, the manila paper is a good idea. Will do this for Belle real soon. By the way, what did you use to stick the manila paper and the posters on the wall?

What a cute set of school pictures. This makes me miss back when I was young and just starting school…. and to think I have made it this far – I suppose I have learned a lot when you think about it.

Awwww! This is one of the cutest scenario I’ve ever seen. Naalala ko tuloy nung bata pa ako, ginawa din yan ni Mama for me. Ako naman nun, mahilig mag pretend na teacher sa mga pinsan ko, hehe :)

    Hi Joy!

Like you, I also posted alphabets, shapes and number posters sa house. I placed inside our living room pa nga. hahaha! wala ako pakialam even if it destroys the aesthetic appeal of our living room..this is sam’s learning tools noh! hahaha!

Aside from the posters, i bought her flash cards too! We usually play games naman with flash cards. Effective din.

I strongly believe this is one way for them to learn easily. Helps in recognition and memory retention too!

Btw, same tayo posters Elmo alphabet and numbers! Hahaha! :)
    wala lang…

Way to go, Mommy Joy! :)

hi jenny, i forgot kung anong tawag, basta it’s color green then naka-roll siya that you can cut into pieces. tapos para siyang sticker that you have to remove the other side so you can stick it on the wall. lol, sorry! try asking national bookstore or ACE about it :)
