Just Like Me
Sandy plays on her own. When she does, she talks to herself or to her dolls.
Her monologue goes like this.
“Don’t disturb me. I’m working, I need to work.” – to anyone while typing away on her laptop
“Sit like this. Be a good girl” – to her doll bebus
“Open your mouth, you need to eat. It’s okay, this is for you” – to barney and bebus
“you need to wiwi on the baby toilet. you’re a big girl. mama’s dede is yucky” – to herself LOL
“I’m so tired I need to sleep. No more carry okay? my back is aw-aw” – to her doll bebus.
“Don’t cry bebus. Come here, I’ll carry you. na-na-nah, na-na-nah, na-na-na-na-na-naaaah” – to her “crying” doll
O diba, she’s so sweet. I sometimes get frustrated when she wants to be carried all the time. What I keep on forgetting is that she’s still a kid who needs to be touched and kissed all the time especially when she’s hurt, sleepy or tired. I didn’t realize this until I heard her soothe her baby doll because her doll fell from the bed. I’m such a bad mother sometimes; work really gets in the way of parenting.
