Nakup

I forgot to update my blog. Ang dadaldal kasi ng mga tao sa twitter bwahaha. I feel good though that I got to finish a lot of tasks from work. Now all I need to do is write about ostrich feathers and other things that escape me write now. My mind is just not set to work anymore at this time of the day. I bet that any minute now, Sandy will barge inside our room to demand her much-needed attention from me.

Anyway, will update some more tomorrow! Congratulations to those who have PRs. Enjoy it while it lasts. ;-)

New Look. Again.

Just finished customizing my wordpress skin. I really love this Homeschool skin by Gazelle Creative because it’s easy to change the headers, title tags, sidebars, etc.

Here’s a print screen.

You may be asking yourself why I need to post a screenshot when the changes are glaringly obvious. Well, you see, I still have two designs remaining. Who knows, I might change the look again tomorrow depending on my mood. I might also try changing the skin every refresh if I’m crazy enough to waste working hours.

Happy Day

I’ve had enough of being sick today. I’ll just post this photo to cheer myself up.

This was taken yesterday when we visited Sandy’s newest cousin, Adrienne. It was also my father’s 56th birthday so we had a mini family get together too. I know I should’ve at least bought Adrienne a baby gift basket but we were too busy last Saturday to get one. It’s been four months since I last saw my parents. I missed them a lot and I’ve been feeling guilty about not visiting them often so I promised myself to visit them at least once a month from now on. Too bad I was sick so we had to get home early. And thanks to The Husband and my brother’s nonstop stories about paranormal beings, my dreams last night were filled with white ladies and poltergeists.

S.I.C.K.

Been sick for three days now. I hate it when this happens. Luckily, the little one is immune because the virus was actually from her. It’s hard to get up, let alone work.

Good stuff:
Sandy slept on her own for two straight days. I was pretty dizzy and on the brink of getting delirious because of my crappy colds that I couldn’t handle nursing her before she goes to sleep. The Husband told me to switch places with him so they can talk until she falls asleep. And she did. It was a miracle. We tried it again last night and she did it again. We just have to make sure that she wears her Little Mermaid blankie or else she’ll find tons of reasons not to sleep.

Not-so-good:
She had two nighttime “accidents” this month. I woke up around 5AM and found the lower part of her body on our bed while her upper part was still on her bed. I found her position really weird so I got up and tried to make her comfortable. She then woke up and told me in a very sleepy voice, “Mommy, wiwi” . She was wet all over. The reason why half of her body was on our bed was because she didn’t want to lie down on the wet area.

I’ve been taking lots of photos lately. I don’t care anymore if they are good or not, as long as I’m able to document Sandy’s day to day activities. It’s really great because I’m planning to scrap like crazy!

Triwizard Tournament

We’ve been watching this four times a day since Monday. After gratuading from The Sorcerer’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets, the Goblet of Fire is now Sandy’s latest favorite. Whether she’s playing or lying down on the bed, Goblet of Fire needs to be turned on just in case she wants to see Harry.

I’m not complaining. In fact, I’m really glad that she wants to watch this as I’m getting tired of HP1 and 2 already. Although Sandy learned to cast her fave spell, “Expecto Patronum” from HP3 (The Prisoner of Azkaban), she’s not that crazy about it because of the dementors. Goblet of Fire is also one of my favorites, aside from Order of the Phoenix (book version not the movie, the movie didn’t meet my expectations). I like how Harry seem to be stronger and wiser here and the fact that Voldermort is back makes it exciting even more.

We really need to get a new tv mount soon so the TV can be moved easily. Do you know that she even likes to watch Harry (or Hi5) while she’s doing number 2 or taking a bath? Mind you, we’re not turning our TV into a babysitter because she loves asking questions nonstop while watching.

Gold Investment

Investing in precious metals is one of the best ways to secure your future. Unlike paper, stocks and bonds; precious metals have true intrinsic value. It offers a solid, long-term and tangible way that can protect you from inflation, deflation, recession and depression. Most people consider gold bullion as the best form of money the world has ever known because of its rarity, durability. Even a small amount can buy a lot of goods.

Check out the Monex.com website to learn how you can invest on precious metals. You can buy gold coins in three forms - the 10-ounce gold bullion bar, the 32.15 troy ounce gold “kilobar” and the 10-ounce gold bullion ingot. It can be delivered directly to you bank or any safe depository of your choosing.

Meet Manny

There was a small doll that was included in the baby carriage that we bought. Sandy named her Manny because she said he looks like Malfoy from Harry Potter. Anyway, the doll was made of cheap materials so I wasn’t surprised when her legs fell off that same day. And an hour after her legs fell, her head followed. I thought Sandy will get scared but she loved it even more (if only her Papa could say the same hehe).

Hello Manny! She’s actually cute - bodiless and freakiness aside.

After the incident, I went inside the room and watched TV while the little girl was left outside the hallway playing. I heard her talking nonstop to someone so I went outside to check. When she saw me, she said, “Mommy, quiet. Manny is sleeping.” Apparently, she was just chatting with Manny before I came out.

And then as if I wasn’t there, she started talking to Manny again in a hushed voice.
“Manny, look at Herbert (her red horse). Don’t be afraid, come on. He’s your friend. Herbert, look at Manny, he has no body. Papa took it away. Kawawa naman Manny.”

It was hilarious. Again, freakiness and bodiless doll aside.

Last night, Manny’s head was on top of our bed. I caught Sandy looking at it sadly, probably feeling bad for him/her again. After a few moments, she whispered to the doll, “Manny, I will buy you body tomorrow okay? And some legs too.”

Okay, I know I should probably teach her that she can’t fix things by buying them but what the heck. Let her do what she wants.

The Perfectionist

Sandy saw a blurred photo of her on my computer. She reminded me so much of her Papa when she said:

Sandy: Mommy who’s that?

Me: It’s you.

Sandy: It’s blurred!!!!!

Me: Yes it is.

Sandy: Fix it. Fix it now. Make it beautiful.

Okay fine. Style kaya yung blurred. LOL

Wais

No, I didn’t get a chance to have a getaway to my dismay. I was so looking forward to a road trip and to make matters worse, we spent the same amount of money (that we should be spending out of town) just by going to the mall.

Anyway.

Bought new toys for the little girl since she’s been very good for the last couple of weeks. She wanted a shopping cart for the longest time so we went to Toy Kingdom with that purchase in mind. While the salesmen were demonstrating the shopping cart (worth Php1,500), Sandy was getting busy pushing a cute but cheap looking baby carriage. She wasn’t paying attention to the cart and I’m getting a bit embarrassed because it took so long for the salesmen to assemble the shopping cart. I was like, “hey Sandy look at this cart, it’s so cute”. She glanced at it once, didn’t like it, then continued pushing her baby cart. She then saw this ironing board and got so engrossed pretending to be her Ate Arlyn. Anyway, to cut the story short, we didn’t go for the shopping cart because, really, PHp1500 for a toy shopping cart? We decided to get her the baby carriage instead which is only about Php270. The salesmen kept on convincing her to get the expensive items and even showed her a “nicer” ironing board for Php1200. Too bad for them because Sandy’s just like her mother. She chose the cheap stuff of course and ended up with two new toys - baby carriage for Php270 and ironing board for Php450.

Losing and Gaining

I’m glad to find a diet pill review that doesn’t just talk about advantages. The review can be found here, discussing about Alli, a weight loss pill that works like Xenical. Now Xenical is very popular amongst women who want to lose weight quickly and easily, thanks to their commercial that showcases real people (the Chocolate shop owner losing about 30lbs in months) and their experiences. Anyway, you don’t see websites writing stuff like this all the time do you?

“The most common side effect is unexpected, sudden, and explosive diarrhea. Literally pooping your pants. So while you’re at the drug store picking up your Alli, you may want to be like the Astronaut Lisa Nowak and buy yourself some diapers. Alli users are having to carry an extra pair of pants wherever they go - seriously!

Of course, they are trying to sell their own stuff so this is probably a good marketing strategy. Still, it makes you think twice whether you really need a quick solution or a long healthy one.

Sleeping like a log

Every morning, I turn on Hi5 before I wake her up. It’s her favorite show so even if she’s still sleepy, she’d be too happy to get cranky for having her sleep disturbed. It didn’t work this morning however. She was sleeping like a log. No amount of turning up the volume can wake her. So I did the inevitable as I ready myself for her tantrums. I nudged her for a couple of seconds while whispering, “Sandy…. sandy…”. She opened her eyes, rolled over and whined. She was just about to cry, shout and whatnot when I said, “time for school….”. Just like that and she stood up as if she wasn’t sleeping at all. She got all cheerful and smiling at the TV while saying things like, “I will eat my baon okay? Is teacher Melody there? Where’s my homework? Papa is funny!!”.

She really loves going to school and always looking forward to snack time.

Fame

I’ve been reading too many Hollywood gossips lately. All those talk of liposuction, drug rehabilitation and divorce are tainting my rose colored glasses. I always feel envious about the rich and famous that I often dream of reliving my life as a successful Hollywood actress. Imagine being on the spotlight all the time and have the ability to buy masses of real estate properties filled with pools, top of the line appliances, luxury cars and whatnot. But there’s always another side to every happy story. My consolation is they probably have too many problems to enjoy their luxurious life anymore.
