Have a great weekend!

DON’T TAKE MY PICTURE!

Ayaw nya na pa-picture.

This afternoon I tried to bribe her with M&Ms (copying Aggie’s approach) and she posed for two minutes. I doubt if I can find a photo that’s not blurry though. She just really find it hard to stand/sit still. This is why I’m thankful for AUTO settings. I can still capture the moment, sans quality lighting of course. Which reminds me, we need to shop for maxim lighting for our bathroom. I can’t put on my makeup in there anymore, let alone tweeze my eyebrowse LOL

Half Baked

Four hours have passed and I’ve done nothing but:

bloghop
exercise
delete old posts
reply to comments
eat junk (there goes all the calories I’ve lost during my 15-min run)
eat Sandy’s leftover breakfast
bloghop again
twitter, twitter and twitter

Things that I still need to do:
Finish Jody’s site
Flash animation for a logo
Website design
Update all my blogs
Review reno hotels
Finish tags

Scrapping Everyday

I’ve been trying my best to scrap one layout daily.

Mich and Aggie are right. Scrapping is the best way to relieve stress. I also like how I get a chance to re-visit old photos and remember the moments behind them. I usually forget our photos as soon as I’ve downloaded it from the memory card and posted them on my blog. Now, I found another way to go back in time and I’m definitely having a blast!

Save your Data

Computer crashing is one of the worst things that can happen to someone whose personal and work files were stored. This happens to a lot of people. Most often than not, they never get to retrieve the lost files and had to start from scratch again. But those were the old days. With flashbackdata.com, data recovery is now possible. Flashback Data has a state-of-the-art Class 10 clean room for internal hard disk repair, advanced software to retrieve loss data, damaged partition and OS corruption. Don’t you just feel better knowing this? I do. A damaged hard drive or system crashing is not something that you can predict. One way to prevent data loss is to make sure to keep multiple backups just in case disaster strikes.

Guess How Much She Loves Me

There are small things that make me know for certain how my daughter loves me.

Whenever I’m working hard, I will notice that something will always, and I mean always materialize at the right side of my table. It could be a plate of banana, pizza, pasta, celery and like yesterday, a big chili pepper made of red clay. And it doesn’t stop there. The plate will have a fork or spoon and a cup of soda or the soda bottle itself.

Sandy: Mommy……..
ME: Yes baby?
Sandy: Look (pointing at the plate)
ME: Wow, you have food here. Are you going to eat?
Sandy: No. It’s for you. I ate already.

Sometimes, she’ll even give me a cup of coffee with ice cube. All of them are toys, but you get the picture. This happens everyday. She makes sure that I don’t get hungry when I’m working.

************************

When I hurt myself, she will rush to my aid while I whimper and whine from the pain.

ME: OUch, ouch, aaaaaaaargghh! Ouuchhh!!
Sandy: What happened? What happened?
ME: I hit myself. I’m okay, it hurts a bit though.
Sandy: (in a mothering voice) Come here, come here. MMmmwaah (big kiss with matching embrace). There. No more aw aw?

*************************

After washing my face, I sometimes forget to wipe it because I was so busy doing something. She’ll say:

Sandy: mommy, come closer
Me: okay, what?
Sandy: I’ll wipe your face (then she’ll wipe my face using any cloth near her, a dirty blouse, her lampin, tissue)

************************
She knows now that working is important. She rarely disturbs me anymore except when she’s sick and needs extra TLC. But sometimes I miss her so I take a break and go to the bed to read her a book. She’s always surprised to see me. She will ask, “Mommy? Are you done working? Can you play now?”. Of course, I’m never done working. But I’ll smile and hug her tight because she’s so considerate and tell her, “yes baby, we can play now.”

Happy Monday!

So how are you doing today? A re-cap of the past two days:

  • Had my ME time last Saturday. The Husband and Sandy went to the mall, just the two of them, to give me three hours worth of rest time. I’m so proud for the both of them really. They managed without me HAHA.
  • I scrapped three layouts in three hours while they were out
  • I had a home massage again Saturday night. My favorite masseuse Tin was back so the massage was so good I wanted to give her a Php200 tip instead of the usual Php50. (I didn’t of course LOL)
  • Impulsive shopping yesterday. Bought tons of stuff for the house. I’ve decided not to note down our expenses yesterday. I just closed my eyes instead and tried my best not to calculate on my head.
  • Sandy slept early and woke up around 10AM today

I don’t have much work today so I’ll just continue scrapping until I lose my mojo. Have a happy Monday!

Oh by the way. If you’re looking for gifts that you can give to your feline loving friends, how about getting them a cat cocoon? It’s so much nicer and may I say chic compared to a cat condo. Just look at this
photo. Cute huh?

Friday

Too lazy to do anything today.

Have a great weekend y’all! ;)

Sandy’s First Haircut

Yep, that’s right. Last Sunday was her first official haircut. Since she didn’t have that much hair, getting a haircut wasn’t a priority until her pedia told us that we should have her curls trimmed. I was really hesitant knowing that we’d find it hard to make Sandy sit still. So we practiced several times and even showed photos of Jane’s Sophia and Jacq’s Sam having their hair cut in a salon.

The result? She was so behaved. Of course there were some moments when she couldn’t help but look at her reflection. And just when I was so sure that she will freak out at the sight of a hairdryer, she looked down obediently and let the guy dry her hair. She also said, “I’m not moving ha.”

Last Day in School

Sandy finished her summer school last Friday. There was a small party and the parents were invited. Before the games, they showed us what they usually do everyday. Sandy was the youngest by the way but she can follow all the lessons and activities from drawing to singing to dancing to ABCs to counting. The only activity that she can’t join is reading and sitting in one place ;)

With her “favorite classmate” AJ. She has a love and hate relationship with this kid.

Posing with her classmates

Whenever the teacher asks them to stand up, Sandy goes to the front as if to lead them bwahahah

The teacher was singing ABCs here when Sandy stood up all of a sudden to point to the letters on her own.

Eating time

The teacher asked me if I want to enroll her already this June but I said no. Sandy might be ready but I’m definitely not. I think I can teach her the basics at home anyway plus I’m reading about homeschooling and might give it a try. IF, and that’s a big if, I can still afford to squeeze some time.

This just in: Scratch that last line. We have decided to enroll Sandy this Friday. We figured since she enjoyed her summer class and knows her teachers already, it wouldn’t hurt to have 1 1/2 to 2 hours of school/play time daily. The tuition is not that high compared to other schools so her savings accounts are safe, for now.

All About Bedbugs

Before we bought Sandy a new mattress, she wakes up with bites every other day. I’m suspecting bedbugs but I’m not really sure. I’ve read from this bed bugs guide that it’s hard to tell if you have them or not. The first things to look for are dark spots on the mattress, which thankfully we don’t have. The second sign are little red bites just like what Sandy has from time to time. The guide said you can also catch them in the act by using a flashlight at night (they only come out once a week) or stick double sided tapes on the bed to see if some bed bugs will get stuck on it. Good thing we got rid of the old mattress. If you have bedbug problems, try these natural remedies - vacuuming, steam cleaning, diatomaceous soil (haven’t tried this) and leaving the mattress, pillows, etc outside. Bedbugs do not transmit diseases but the bites can become infected due to constant scratching. And if you’re allergic to the bites, you can go into anaphylactic shock.

Good Morning!!

Oh tons of stuff to do today.

1. Post Sandy’s “graduation” and first hair cut photos
2. Tag marathon
3. Scrap at least one layout
4. Finish all my assignments
5. Update all my blogs
6. Research on Lasik centers.

Whew. And that doesn’t even include my design tasks on my fulltime job. This is what happens when you try to take care of two kids for the first time. :) No computer and online time over the weekend for me.

update
As of 5:08PM, I only finished item #5. I’m too tired and lazy to do anything so I will just continue my list tomorrow. Got loads of photos to share so please make sure to check it out!

Busy Day

I will answer your tags and comments soon. Sandy’s cousin (Ate Gabby) is here so our house is in chaos. I doubt if I can get some serious work done! I’ve been reading on this article about legal steroids (is there such a thing?) for over an hour already but can’t understand a thing. The words just get all blurry while I hear constant shrieking and happy blabbering in the background. So this is how it is when you have two kids? If I haven’t decided on having baby #2 yet, my experience today will make my decision definite on not having one. Well, unless we can get 2x richer that I don’t have to work anymore.

NOW and THEN

This was fun! I remembered a lot of memories during my college days and missed a lot of people (including my parents, high school pals, college and office friends) while doing this tag. Thanks for this Aggie.

Buge is right, iisa lang smile ko ;) which is why I’m so thankful Sandy didn’t get her smile from me :P
