Potty Conversations

Sandy talks a lot during potty time. She also needs to read something or else, she will find it hard to poop.
Here was our conversation last night. I was too sleepy by the way so I wasn’t too cooperative.
Sandy: Mommy, who’s this? (pointing at her favorite magazine)
ME: I don’t know.
Sandy: Mi ……? Ckey….???
ME: Mickey Mouse
Sandy: Correct. How about this? (pointing to Daisy Duck)
Me: I don’t know
Sandy: Mommyyy!!!! Say Deyyyy…….????
Me: Deyyyybluks??
Sandy: Siiii!!! Deeyyyysiiiiiii Duuuuuuckkkk. Say Daisy Duck.
Me: Hohummmmm. Are you done Sandy?
Sandy: Not yet. I’m still making pupu.
We will do this until she finishes pointing to all Disney characters.
Her yaya, Ate Arlyn loves to give her a quick peck on the ear. They always fight because of this.
Another excerpt last night while she’s doing number two.
Sandy: Mommy, I don’t like Ate Arlyn to kiss me.
ME: Why?
Sandy: I just don’t like it. I will tell her, Ate Arlyn, please don’t kiss me. If you kiss me, I will get angry. If you don’t kiss me, I will be happy. So don’t make me sad.
ME: Okay, tell her nicely. Never shout at her. That’s rude.
Sandy: Eh she will still kiss me. That’s why I get angry. Sige, I will get sad na lang. (she then pouted like Pocoyo)
ME: Sandy are you done?
Sandy: No, I still need to read this.
After twenty minutes inside the bath room:
Sandy: Mommy, mommy, mommy, what’s the girl doing? (still pointing at the girl from the magazine)
ME: I don’t know. Sandy!!!! Are you done or you’re just reading?
Sandy: No no no. I’m not yet done. (panicking)
ME: You’re not making pupu, you’re not even pushing.
Sandy: Here o, hrmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Hhhhrmmmmmmmm. Okay mommy? Mommy, mommy, mommy. Who’s this? What is she doing? What letter is this? Why is there a number here?
Hayayayayyyy.
Addicted to Sports
Want to be updated with the latest news and information on your favorite sports team? AddictSports is just the site for you. True to its name, this forum is filled with sports addicts who spend their days posting about NFL picks, trade rumors, major/minor league talk, fantasy sports, and many more. It was my client who told me to take a quick look at this forum while I conceptualize with his sports website. He said I might learn a couple of useful information that will help me understands what he wants to do. And I did learn a lot about football. I usually space out whenever my husband and his friends talks about football but after visiting this forum, I just can’t help but butt in and surprise them with some of the rumors that I’ve just read.
Happy Wednesday
It’s a very busy day today! I’m not ignoring your comments and tags ha. Promise I will work on them as soon as I can
I’m just swamped with design work and some side projects too. Will be updating soon!
Doing her assignment
Here’s the obedient little girl doing her Nth homework for this month. Some of the photos taken in this series will show that her eyes are focused somewhere else and not on her paper. That’s how it is with Sandy whenever she’s working on her assignments.

Teaching her to do stuff is a constant battle. The first time was hilarious when you think about it now. Back then, it was too frustrating. Sandy is just too stubborn. She wants to do things her own way (like me) and gets really impatient when she can’t do it (like her Papa). She hates coloring too unless done in colored pens. Good thing she loves to write (trace) lines and letters now. She still loves school to bits that our day isn’t complete until she finished re-enacting what happened in class.
Shopping Wisely for Babies
I remember the first time we shopped for baby items. We were so clueless and had no idea what to buy. Thanks to the salesman, we ended up buying the first most expensive thing that we saw. This is why whenever new parents ask for my opinion on brands, models, etc. I tell them to research online first. Compare the prices, read about pros and cons, check recall list regularly and just be smart. Some items are more expensive than others because they are more sturdy and safe. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that an item is of top quality just because it’s pricey. Buying wisely is the key here. If you will look at the babythings4u.com website, almost all high chairs have the same price. They vary a bit because of the added features like extra storage, colorful tray, extra toy, 3 position recline and many more.
My husband is the one who makes sure we invest on high chairs and strollers because these are the most used furniture. I would’ve added baby cribs but since we co-sleep, we never really used our 3-in-1 playpen from Gracco. What I really wanted but wasn’t able to buy was a travel cot. Packing up the playpen is too much work that we’d rather put Sandy on the carrier whenever we go to my parent’s house. I saw two kinds of pop-up travel cots from babythings4u.co.uk and wished we got that instead of the playpen. Perhaps for our next baby
, three years from now.
Weekend Update – 0728
Before my blog gets flooded with other updates and tags, I’ll do a quick post about our weekend.
Saturday
Went grocery shopping at SM Bicutan. Bought lots of junk but still managed to stay within our budget. I wanted to buy a Bluetooth headset but the ones being sold looked like they will break in one month so I didn’t get any. When we’re done, we just bought cheap take-out food because our helper will be on day off.
Saturday night – dinner with friends. In order to have a peaceful one, we need to find a new activity for Sandy. We first went to Rustan’s Makati to find a toy that she likes. I don’t know what it’s called but it includes various colors of clay and weird eyes and feet. She saw it from her Ate Gabby and has been playing with her Play-doh since then, using cotton buds as feet. Rustan’s doesn’t carry them though so we just bought her a few stickers. I wanted to buy her a Barbie magnetic book worth PHp500 but before I paid for it, I’ve decided that it was too costly.
She was behaved the whole night and I can’t be any prouder. It helped that she loves our friends to bits and that my friend’s 10-year-old kikay daughter was there too. Sandy became that girl’s shadow, copying her, staying beside her, even asked her to ride the car with us. And whenever she notices that we’re leaving, she’ll say “Mommy, I’m not sleepy yet ha. I don’t want to go home.”
I had so much fun catching up with the gang. We were able to chat for so long and I didn’t have to worry if Sandy’s doing okay at home. I guess she’s now more independent because she’s older. Thank you!
On the other hand, Sunday was spent at home eating junk and watching TV. We were still “helpless” then so we ordered food from Chowking. Sandy threw a couple of tantrums (she wouldn’t be Sandy if she doesn’t) but she was her usual cheerful self the whole day.
It was a good weekend, all in all. I wish I can say the same for my online life. (sigh)
Describe my Day
Here are the Rules:

TODAY, I:
1.) Woke up early because I will take Sandy to school myself. Turned out they didn’t have class today.
2.) I didn’t exercise, AGAIN. Our treadmill was wet because of a leak on the roof. It sucks, big time because I’m so looking forward to burning calories. As if. LOL
3.) Trying not to feel down that some of my blogs’ PR went down. It’s really frustrating but it’s best not to dwell on it.
4.) Boracay plans are getting blurred because of the weather. Probably go to San Juan, Batangas instead
5.) I came across an old co-worker’s blog. The Husband and I were saying some nasty things about how lewd the photos were until I realized that I know the author. LOL. The nasty comments stopped immediately. Except the girl needs Differin badly.
6.) I need to stop twittering.

Prayer for the MV Princess of the stars fatalities and survivors.
Dear God, we pray that you comfort each bereaved family everyday as they grieved for their loss, we pray that you will supply all their needs, we pray for the survivors that they may have a good life after the tragedy, that you will bless them and let them know in the deepest part of their heart that in spite of what have happened, you LOVE and CARE for them. This we pray in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen. I encourage everyone to keep the prayer going. LET’S P.U.S.H. (PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS).
