Weaning Sandy
I deserve a pat on the back for weaning Sandy before my scheduled date. More importantly, Sandy deserves a medal for not pushing anymore. I dreaded the time that I will have to start weaning Sandy from her day time nursing. I was expecting a lot of drama and crying but all it took was a couple of days without me during day time and voila, she doesn’t need my dede anymore. It has been three months since I weaned her from her night time nursing. It started like this:
Stage 1
Me: Sandy, no more dede okay. Just carry like a baby while Mommy sits on the bed.
Sandy: Why sit only?
Me: Because I have aw-aw, I can’t stand up and carry you at the same time.
Sandy: Why no more dede?
Me: Because I have aw-aw, I have blood.
Sandy: Okay, carry like a baby please.
Stage 2 After a couple of days, she will now be used to sleeping in my arms. I will then start to introduce another method
Me: Uh-oh, Mommy has a headache. Can we please lie down instead and I’ll just sing to you?
Sandy: Okay, mommy. But why no carry on the bed?
Me: Let’s just try lying down okay?
Sandy: Why no more dede here? (pointing to my breasts)
Me: When it’s night time no more dede.
Sandy: But when it’s day time, dede pa!!!
We will try to lie down for 30 minutes. But if she really can’t sleep, I will do my best not to force her. Kawawa kasi especially when I see her sad face in the dark. After three days of doing this, she will learn to sleep without being carried at all. The only difference is …

Busy Day, Busy Sandy
I have tons of work to do today. Usually, I look forward to Sandy going to school so I can work without interruptions. However, Sandy have colds and cough so she can’t go to school. Thank God she no longer depends on mommy to have fun. Just give her enough activity every 30 minutes and she can get busy on her own. Although she still asks me questions from time to time, it’s a big leap from not being able to work at all because all she wants is mommy, on the bed with her. I also think I have weaned her already. I’m not sure because it has only been four days since she last nursed. I’m hoping this will continue for the next few days. It deserves a whole post so expect one soon!

Our hallway is her favorite hang out these days. More photo of her getting all busy.
Hohumm
Inaatake ako ng katamaran. Hopefully, I can get back to blogging soon. We’ve been spending the last three days eating out because I want to fatten The Husband again LOL. So sarap buhay and wala munang pakialam sa gastos.
Work stuff will have to wait too.
Hope all of you are having a great Monday.
We’re back
But need to work first so … later!
Sandy the Phone Operator
I spend most of my days at the hospital now. I get home around 8-9PM so I can spend some time with Sandy before she sleeps. As soon as I wake up, I’ll pack a new batch of t shirts, shorts, books, laptop so I can get back to the hospital and make sure that The Husband stays in bed. I’m not used to being away from Sandy for 8 hours more so this is really a first. For the past three days, her yaya reports everything that Sandy’s doing. I can’t believe she’s so behaved and even sleeps on her own during naptime. I doubt if I can convince her to sleep if I’m around. So this separation is good, I think, because she’s learning to cope. But God how we miss her! We call her at home every 10 minutes just to hear her voice.
Some of our conversations:
Sandy: Hello? Who’s this?
ME: Hi Baby!
Sandy: Hi mommy!!!
ME: Do you miss me? What are you doing?
Sandy: I’m watching TV and painting with Ate Arlyn. I miss you mommy. Where’s papa? Is he okay now? What is he wearing?
ME: Why do you want to know what he’s wearing?
Sandy: Because I can’t see his face. I want to talk to him. Hi papa!!!
And then I will pass the phone to Sherwin. I told The Husband that if ever I work overseas, I’d definitely spend all my salary calling Sandy 24/7 or spending it all on airfare every three days.
Hayy. We really want to go home.
Fab Maternity Dresses
I wish I have seen these Maternity Clothes when I was pregnant with Sandy. I would’ve probably felt beautiful and prouder if I was wearing something more flattering. Thank God my mom was able to make five maternity dresses for me but they weren’t enough for five whole months. When I began my 6th month of pregnancy, I was feeling really ugly and all the nice jeans and tight blouses seem to mock me everytime I visit the mall. Oh if only I knew back then!! So for you pregnant moms out there, I highly suggest you check out this maternity website for hot and sexy outfits. To give you an example, see the thumbnails below.

All of these outfits are sold at bellydancematernity.com. I learned that the more tight-fitting it is, the better it looks. Of course, these clothes are not only designed to look fab on pregnant moms but also comfortable and stretchy enough to accommodate a growing belly. The Juicy Couture Maternity pants above looks absolutely amazing, don’t you think? Just because you’re pregnant doesn’t mean you can’t wear skinny jeans and stilettos you know! I really love the collection from this website. IF ever I get pregnant again, I’ll make sure to shop here so I can show the world how great it is to be pregnant.
Weekend Update 0811 and Sandy’s Exam
Nothing much really happened over the weekend. I went to the mall to check out some cheap HDMI switches and when I got home, The Husband was running a high fever. We immediately went to Medical City for an emergency check up due to the fact that he rarely gets sick, plus he can’t tolerate the pain in his head and body anymore. They gave him stronger dose for paracetamol and some pain killers then sent him home. We need to observe for three days (3rd day today) and if he still has fever, we’ll have to get a CBC. For the last three nights, we slept on separate rooms just to make sure that he won’t be able to pass the bug to Sandy.
****
Sandy had her first exam today. It took her ten minutes only and when I asked her what she did, she said she had to write the big A and small a. I was surprised because although she loves writing, I doubt if she managed to write one without help. So I called up her school and according to her teacher, they matched the small letters with the big letters. They also pointed which item begins with the letter A, E, I, O U. Sandy finished all 30 questions and we’ll get the results next week. The teacher was all praised for Sandy because she finished first and didn’t have problems at all. Gawd, if only she knew what I’ve been teaching Sandy for the last five days. We’ve been reviewing like crazy bwahahahhaa because I thought the exams are going to be hard. And knowing Sandy’s penchant for saying the wrong answers to frustrate me, I had to remind her several times not to kid around when in school. Tomorrow is Math by the way, which is her favorite.
