Good Morning Tuesday
It’s 11AM and I can’t believe I only made one post since 9AM. I just finished blogging about our National Museum Tour here so please visit that when you can. I also encourage everyone to join the guided tour because part of the proceeds go to I LOVE MUSEUM program. Read my other blog for more info about it.
I’m not planning to work too much today, except finish some minor tasks and learn about cell signal booster. I’m enjoying my day with Sandy (I’ve been neglecting her) and know that I should take advantage of this down time at work while I can.
Speaking of Sandy, since she has been absent for one whole week, she came home yesterday with 10 homeworks. I was shocked and wondered how she can finish all of them but she did. That’s how addicted she is to writing. She’s doing great with coloring too so I guess her patience is improving.
I also received a letter that she will be Miss India (no surprise there) for their United Nations program this October. Gastos na naman sa costume!
Sandy’s 3rd Birthday
I need to blog about this before October so this is going to be quick.
As I’ve told you before, we planned three parties but she was only able to attend the one at home. She was hospitalized after that party due to nonstop vomiting. Still, she enjoyed every bit of her small merienda party. When she went downstairs and saw the balloons and banners, she uttered ‘WOW’ under her breath and was speechless for a couple of minutes. We didn’t invite kids but there were lots of food so I asked her yaya to invite anyone who’s available from the neighborhood. She had a Royal Princess cake, ice cream, hotdogs with mallows, siomai, bbq and lumpia from Goldilocks and chicken Alfredo with broccoli (cooked by her Papa).
For her gifts, she received an aquarium (Freddie and Frieda) from her ninong, a book from the neighbor, and small gifts from us (princess violin, small drum set, princess cellphone, pooh dart board). The big Barbie doll was a follow up gift from her Lola when she was in the hospital already. You’d think we wouldn’t get tired but we were so beat after the party. Sandy was all over the place so her photos were limited even on the video. Her Papa was so stressed too blowing the balloons, cooking the pasta, taking the photos / video, etc. We will do it again of course, anything for Sandy.

Birthday Photo (Preview)
Not that there are many photos to share. In fact, this is just one of the few decent ones. Most of the photos are blurred because she seems to be all over the place (which is usually the case when it’s her party). She wasn’t even on the video, except for a few glimpse here and there.
So here, the birthday girl in her ballerina outfit. I’m happy that I remembered to take her picture outside where the lighting is so much better.

I couldn’t make her pose or smile because she was too busy finishing the candy flower.
Meet My Doctor
I’m much better now. I got sick too, you know. Complete with chills and hallucinations. I hate being sick, not because of too much work waiting when I get well, but because when you’re a mom, it’s impossible to get rest. However, after talking to Sandy and explaining that she needs to play without me, I managed to sleep (and hallucinate) for at least two hours. Not only that, she took care of me, literally. Her yaya had to cook some food for us and The Husband can’t go home early because of important stuff at work so I’m left with Sandy in our room.
When I was about to throw up
Sandy: Mommy, you want to throw up? How about think of something else? Like rainbows, balloons, horses, barbies, cakes ….
When I was so dizzy and hot
Sandy: Mommy, want ‘kool fever’? I’ll get it, you wait ha.
Then she went to her Lola’s room and got the kool fever from the ref. The box for adults was empty though so she had to go back again and find it in the ref. I was so proud of her. She then came back with a pack for kids and she said, “hee hee it’s for babies mommy” but it will have to do. When I placed it on my forehead, she asked if I was feeling better and I did. Thanks to her.
When I was sitting beside the toilet while waiting for the much feared vomiting
Sandy: (now wearing a stethoscope over her shoulder) Mommy, are you okay? Do you feel okay? Wait here.
After a couple of minutes, I heard her heavy footsteps as if she was having trouble walking. When she entered our bathroom, she was carrying a huge gatorade plastic bottle.
Sandy: Mommy, here’s your gatorade. Drink this so you will not suka okay?
Who needs a doctor when you have Sandy?
Weekend Round Up
I expected that Sandy will get sick before or on her birthday. It happened for the last two years so it would be hoping too much if she didn’t get a fever at least this year. However, I wasn’t expecting that she’ll catch a stomach bug which made us rush to the hospital the night of her exact birthday. After her birthday party at home, I gave her dinner because she was hungry. She then complained that her tummy is aching but I didn’t worry too much. After two hours, she threw up while she was sleeping. I still didn’t panic because honestly, we’re used to this. I was a bit pissed off that it had to happen on her birthday week though. As if she doesn’t deserve a break.
Anyway, she threw up 4x in a span of one hour so we rushed to the UST Hospital. Even though Makati Med is closer, we’re just not confident that Sandy will receive the best treatment there.
So to cut the story short, she missed her two birthday parties - school and Hospicio de San Jose. We just told Hospicio to proceed with the party even without Sandy. The Husband dropped our donations (there were plenty, thanks to those who donated) and more party prizes for the kids.
I really feel bad for Sandy. She was so looking forward to seeing Jollibee dance and having another party. Good thing we were able to invite kids in her party at home so she still had fun blowing the candles and playing with them.
Some photos taken from my mom’s phone. (siempre! may photo opp)

My poor baby beside her new doll (a gift from her Lola)

Just had her IV removed so she was feeling much happier

Yes, that’s the Barbie doll’s gown
One good thing about this is that The Husband and I lost weight. I was close to buying Anoretix for him but I guess he wouldn’t need that now. Well, for a couple of weeks, at least. I doubt if he can keep the pounds off now that we’re home and eating normal food again.
Sandy Turns 3!

We love you so much Sandy! You will always be our baby.
Hello Hello Hello
I’m still here but just very busy. Would you believe I only twit 3-5x a day now? I do check my emails still so feel free to email if you just want to say Hi. ![]()
Anyway, tomorrow is Sandy’s 3rd birthday so I won’t be around that much to blog. We’ll have a small celebration at home complete with balloons, streamers, pasta, cake and ice cream. I’m sure it will be a lot of fun. She really looks forward to parties no matter how small and simple they are.
Plus, she can’t wait to wear her ballerina outfit LOL.
Weekend Round Up
- Sandy is well, thank you very much for asking. Her pedia prescribed some medicines to treat her colds and we bought “clean ears” drop for her ears. I thought she’d mind me spraying her ears but she didn’t mind at all. She likes it a lot especially when we spray our ears first and pretend that it’s ticklish. I was happy to see that some of her ear wax are starting to come out already.
- We scratched off all the items from our long to-do list.
- Still swamped at work - which explains the lack of post
- Spent so much money over the weekend on toys, lootsbags and other extra stuff for the parties
- Yup, she’ll have “parties”. One at home so she can wear her ballerina outfit. Ordered a cake with a huge castle. Another party in school, for 22 kids. The last party at Hospicio for 50 kids.
- Had a massage but it wasn’t as good as last week’s. I feel like I just wasted time and money.
- Paid car insurance, Sandy’s monthly tuition and moved some money from my paypal to my savings account
Happy Weekend
Sandy’s fever is gone but she still have a cold so we’re giving her pedia a visit tomorrow. The weekend is going to be terribly busy that I doubt if I will ever catch up on sleep. I haven’t slept for more than two hours for the last three days and now, even after three cups of coffee, I’m so ready to call it a day. I would love to go out of town if only we have free time. Sometimes, I wish I can drive so I can go anywhere I wish. But I know I’ll only drive when all truck drivers are required to take CDL training here in the Philippines. Anyway, two days won’t be enough to do all the things on my to-do list. The Husband is getting tired already just talking about it.
Sandy is turning three this Thursday by the way which is why we’re unbelievably busy. I got swamped at work that I can’t believe we haven’t bought any gifts for her yet.

Have a great weekend you all! I already tried to visit all your blogs this morning just in case I don’t get to hop tonight.
All Day Fabulous
Her ballerina photos as promised. Nope Weng, she’s not enrolled in a ballet class. She just wants to be a ballerina all of a sudden. She said she will wear the real ballerina outfit on her birthday (as if she has a party) and then her old Snow White ballerina when playing.
