Almost 2009
Happy New Year friends. May we all have a prosperous one!
Christmas Day Photos
If there’s one reason why we I should consider baby #2, it’s this.

She’s much happier, more confident, more caring and loving whenever she’s with cousin Chloe.
List of things to do before 2009
Lest I forget –
1. Pay for our life insurance, auto insurance and annual credit card fees.
2. Hold a garage sale to let go years of junk and old furniture. Also hoping we can buy new ones
3. In relation to item #3, clean up our closet. I wonder if I will ever find time to do this.
4. Give old toys, clothes, shoes to charity.
5. Back up photos and work files to DVD.
6. Compute our 2008 savings after allotting budget for next year’s payables.
7. Start looking for houses online (arrggh). This one is pretty exciting but I’m still lazy to think about moving.
8. Schedule with an allergologist/pulmonologist for Sandy. We just can’t ignore her colds/allergy attacks anymore.
9. Come up with a new plan on how to save money next year.
10. Find a way how I can balance my time at work so I can spend more quality time with Sandy.
Christmas Eve 2008
Because we have been sick for days, our Christmas was pretty simple. My brother-in-law spent Christmas eve with us though so even if there weren’t too many activities/traditions, it was still a blast. After our Christmas dinner, we drove around Makati and The Fort hoping to find some nice decorations or fireworks. But to our dismay, it seems that Christmas Eve in the city wasn’t as festive as it used to. After driving around for almost two hours, we went home feeling sleepy, lazy and with less Christmas spirit. This is also the reason why we didn’t even bothered to change to our red outfits.
We still managed to get a couple of family shots though, thanks to my nagging abilities.
After the picture taking, we started getting excited because there’s only one thing left to do – opening of gifts.
The two little girls were very happy. Who wouldn’t? Almost all the gifts under the tree were for them and there were more than 30 presents there.
I wasn’t able to take photos of Sandy’s loots but here are the ones from me (baby alive), her papa (leaspter lmax), papa Jesus (annie doll), and santa (june doll).
I’m so glad I bought the leapster online. It’s her most favorite activity and it keeps her entertained for hours (with breaks of course). It’s so worth the price and I just hope that there will be more shipping boxes available so I can shop for summer already!
New Theme for New Year
I should be on vacation now but here I am in front of the computer once more. I promised The Husband that I will not touch my laptop while we’re on holiday but I’ve been getting emails and text messages that my main blog is down. I have no choice but to investigate of course. Luckily, it seems to be up now which is why you can see this new post. But I’m already making back up plans which involves moving to another hosting company and downloading archives.
And since we’re on the subject of moving, I might as well change the look of my blog in time for New Year. Aside from researching for cheap hosting packages, I’m also taking advantage of my limited Internet time by downloading free wordpress themes. Three of my blogs have been using the same theme for two years so they could all use a makeover. The themes at www.freethemelayouts.com are just amazing it’s hard to believe they are free. I like the Deskspace theme most because it’s just perfect for my Working from Home blog. I’ve been planning to design my own wordpress theme for the longest time because I was so tired of the too-corporate-normal-three-column layouts available online. But with this innovative and out of the box designs from freethemelayouts, I don’t see why I should bother designing when I can download their fabulous themes for free.
3 Days Before Christmas
I can’t believe that Christmas is almost here. I missed half of it by being sick so I’m a little bit depressed. I usually spend my December shopping and partying but this year, I’ve spent all my time working, lying down, most of the time working while coughing and hating whoever it is that gave me the virus. I promise I will be back with a vengeance. I just can’t miss Christmas! Which explains why even though I was still couching, weak and dizzy, we went to the mall yesterday to do some quick shopping again.
We still think that my cough has to do with allergy because it gets worse when it’s night time and when our aircon is turned on. We also went to my brother-in-law’s birthday party last Saturday. The food was great and Sandy saw cousin Chloe again but we all went home either coughing, sneezing or in Sandy’s case, a swollen eye. What a healthy family!
I really hope I’d be better come Christmas. My work is overflowing too so I should get back to my groove. I don’t want to spend Christmas eve still working you know. Thank God there are only four gifts left that need to be wrapped. I finished the others last night (which explains my cough all night) and I was so happy to see them, all lined up at the bottom of our big Christmas tree. It sucks that I don’t have photos to share YET but like I said, I’m going to be back with a vengeance. I will take photos (or have The Husband take some) to document our Christmas week soon!
Here’s one for now, taken from the latest Christmas party with our friends.
Good Morning. Not.
We had another trip to the hospital last night. It was Medical City this time. Sandy was complaining that her ear was painful so I didn’t wait till morning to have it checked. They said it was just an ear infection and gave her antibiotics to be taken with tempra and her cough meds. She seems fine now but still coughing like her mommy. My cough is so much worse, louder, drier and more painful. It felt like someone sliced my neck, left it open and from time to time tug the skin as if it wasn’t painful already. The Husband gave me Ponstan and it was only then that I was able to rest. But still I didn’t sleep. My coughing continued to disturb The Husband and with my throat getting unbearably itchy every 5 seconds, sleep would be last thing on your mind.
I hope this will be over soon. What I’m really afraid of is that Sandy’s cough is just about to get worse. I don’t want her to suffer what I’m feeling right now. It’s hell for an adult, what more if you’re a toddler.
We’re lucky we have great health insurance from The Husband’s company. Because of this, we have our choice of hospitals without even paying a cent. If you don’t have one, better start canvassing now. We’re Very Sick
Sandy, The Husband and I have been down with something since Sunday. I haven’t been this sick for so long that I almost wanted to call my mom so she can comfort me. But that’s as far as I can blog for now. Even with a throbbing headache and aching throat, I am still working my a$$ off. I just take plenty of rests every hour so I won’t overdo it. Even if I’m getting online, I haven’t been able to blog or even answer emails. But how I wish I can take a three-day rest, though. If there’s a good thing about this at all, it’s the fact that The Husband is losing so much weight. No need for Apidexin for him now. Just eat bad food and you’re guaranteed to be a skinny cow in no time.
A Baby Brother
No, we don’t have one yet but Sandy and her Papa are already planning on having one. The Husband tells her what they need to do when the baby comes. Most of the time I just smile and laugh at their discussions but seriously, I don’t think I can handle a new baby just now. Which is why this post is only about Sandy wanting a baby.
Sandy: Mommy, I want a baby brother. I will take care of him and put him to sleep and give him a bath.
Me: Hmmm, if you have a baby brother, Mommy won’t be able to carry you.
Sandy: I will carry him. Or how about a baby sister?
Me: It’s the same. I can’t carry you because I will have to carry the baby all the time. (you should’ve guessed by now that I’m letting her know the worst case scenario)
Sandy: (paused) …..
Sandy: But it’s going to be so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (waving her hands up and down)
Me: If you have a baby brother, he needs to sleep beside me on the bed. He will dede from mommy all the time.
Sandy: It’s okay. I will lie down on the floor with Papa and we will do lots of things. We will play with the flashlight, make a tent and tell stories. And then when you’re sleeping, you will say "hey, we’re trying to sleep here" and then we’ll say "we’re having so much fun!!"
Me: Awwww. But I don’t want a baby. Not yet.
Sandy: It’s okay. Papa wants one. He wants a baby boy. A blue one. I want a pink baby.
And so on and so on… These are her reasons. As for mine, that will be another blog post. Seeing her excited like this almost makes me want to give her one immediately.
WW – Always Smiling

Not so wordless.
She used to be a colicky baby, but look at her now. Always smiling, giggling, finding something funny about almost anything. Rarely throws a tanrum too unless she’s very tired. Whenever she sees that I’m getting angry, she will try to divert my attention and come up with the silliest things to make me smile.
