Weekend Update – First Week of December

Been really busy for the past couple of days due to shopping, meet ups, parties and more shopping. I believe nothing beats this year when it comes to shopping. It was my first time to shop online so I went all out hoping that it should cover all presents. But no, when I saw some of the items that came, I realized I want to buy more to compensate for the size or lack of quality. So in the end, I bought two items for my favorite godsons/goddaughters.

Anyway, Friday was another Twitter EB with Aggie, Kathy, Alpha, Litzie and Thea. When I told Sandy that I’m going out again, she was okay with it but I could see that she wanted to protest. After all, I’ve been going out for the past couple of days doing shopping, meeting friends, clients, etc. But I’m happy to note that she can manage to be away from me for hours without throwing a tantrum.

Shopped like crazy last Saturday for more gifts. As of this moment, the only remaining gift that we need to buy is for my mother-in-law. This is also the hardest because I have no idea what she could possibly want. :) Perhaps modern furniture? Like we can ever afford a designero one. I stopped myself from buying another toy for Sandy. Thank God for The Husband or else I would’ve bought three items without thinking about it.

I finished Sandy’s first year photobook. I slaved away for hours all day Sunday and was very happy with the result. I also organized my previous scrapbook layouts so that’s another photobook. See below for preview. Soon, I will be working on our travels and The Husband’s photobook.

Conversations with Sandy

I have a list on my desktop that I update whenever Sandy says something silly or weird. It’s a long list already but I want to share this one with you first – Whenever I go out, I tell Sandy that I won’t take long. She lets me leave the house now (yes, I’m free!) but I need to explain to her why, where and who I’m meeting. For this entry, it was about the night when we had to visit a friend who just gave birth. I promised Sandy we’ll be home early knowing that we won’t take long. We left around 7PM but all our friends were there and we had so much fun talking that we forgot the time. We came home at exactly 11PM to find that Sandy was still awake.

Sandy: Mommy mommy mommy I missed you!!!

ME: Hi baby, come on let’s go to sleep.

She seemed happy and didn’t mind us being late so we turned off the lights. After saying our prayers and her papa is done telling her a story, she seemed to remember something.

Sandy: Mommy, why did you take so long?

ME: (not sure if I heard her right) What baby?

Sandy: You. took. so. long. You said you will not take long!

ME: (not sure how to react, it’s not everyday that your child will question how late you got home) erm…. sorry?

Sandy: next time don’t do that again. that’s bad. you said you will only say hi to your friends but you came home late. you took so long. don’t do that! (she’s starting to get angry here promise)

ME: (still a bit uncertain and getting nervous) okay baby sorry sorry don’t get angry. We forgot the time so we took long. but tito cliff and tita lorna wanted to say hi to you. (obviously trying to distract her)

Sandy: You said you will come back early. That’s not a nice thing to do. when you said you will just say hi, just say hi….. (blah blah blah )

She wouldn’t stop arguing just because I sounded so guilty. Honestly, I was so shocked that I had to explain myself to her.

I came out of the room one day and saw this just outside our door.

Weekend Update

Last Saturday was Sandy’s first field trip. Destination was Ocean Adventure in Subic and afterwards, some shopping at Duty Free. The assembly time was 6:20AM so we didn’t even get to have breakfast. It would’ve been fine if we left as scheduled but one parent was very late, almost 50minutes to an hour. Very inconsiderate! In short, we didn’t escape the traffic so we arrived late and had to rush straight to the Dolphins’ show. The kids didn’t have enough time to rest, take a bathroom break or even have a quick snack. Good thing it was one great show so I didn’t dwell on it anymore. Some photos from the trip:

Sandy got really tired, including me and her Papa. I was supposed to get online again that night but I fell asleep without even plugging off my laptop.

Yesterday (Sunday) was movie date with Kelly and Aggie. We didn’t get to meet Kelly until it was time to watch the movie because she had to find someone who can make a tuxedo for Manu. Still, we had so much fun, having our photos taken with “Edward” ROFL. You can read all about it here. I’m still gushing up to now. I’ll have to watch Twilight all over again just to see Edward!

The Husband’s schedule is back to normal now, which is five-day work week. But since it’s a Holiday today, he took advantage and had his teeth checked. We’re hoping there won’t any need for surgery because my God, it can get really expensive, around 9-12K for one tooth. I know he can handle the pain and there’s no danger at all. His birthday is coming up and we still haven’t got any plans on how to celebrate it.
