Getting Sleep

The Husband snores a lot especially when he’s tired. This is why whenever he comes home late whether from a night out or overtime work, he prefers to sleep in the other room because he knows he’ll be extremely noisy. I didn’t mind at first but he’s gotten very loud in the last two years that I find it unable to sleep because I’m worried that he’d wake up Sandy.

A quick search on the web led me to the allegromedical.com website. This site is popular for selling life enhancing products in the US such as daily living aids, pain relievers, respiratory therapy, diabetic supplies, pediatric, maternity and many more. So it’s not a surprise that they have products that will help you stop snoring. I don’t like anything that needs to be placed in the mouth because even though I’d like to get some sleep, I don’t want The Husband to be uncomfortable. For now, I’m willing to try the Snore-No-More pillow because it’s cheap (only $24.99) and it prevents snoring by helping you sleep comfortably.

Good Morning!

I’m alive! Okay, so that’s exaggerating. Just because I didn’t post for three days doesn’t mean the world will stop spinning. But that’s how I feel whenever I fail to post on a Monday you know? So here I am, still busy as ever but just want to post something before I buried myself at work.

I’d like to tell you all about our weekends (they’re equally busy) but that will have to wait. I have limited photos to share, what with our cam traveling somewhere with our dear friend, Z.

Have a great, productive day!

What a Lazy Way to End the Day

I woke up today all excited without any reason at all. It could be the not too cold weather, or the fact that I slept like a baby last night. It felt like I can do anything, even hit the treadmill for thirty minutes. While I was planning what to wear, my enthusiasm started to dwindle down. My sneakers are missing and I have no clean socks in the drawer even if I don’t go out of the house. In short, I didn’t run. Which means the 10 lbs that I gained last Christmas is still here and will probably stay for a long time. I’m close to considering taking weight loss pills but I’m giving myself another month to get back into shape, the healthy way. As for The Husband, he was pretty smug lately because he lost a couple of pounds without doing anything. I’m happy for him but I wondered if this will give him a reason not to exercise anymore.

Little Updates

After thanking our lucky stars because Sandy hasn’t had a cold for weeks, she now has one. Apparently, two of her classmates are coughing so I’m thinking she got it in school. OR it could be another allergy attack, who knows? I told her not to go to school today because I heard there’s a stomach flu that’s going around.

Sandy has now two ABBA DVDs. She watches it the whole day and I’m starting to like them too. That and her Playhouse Disney shows, we always find ourselves fighting with her for the remote control. Even when I’m watching my show, she’d turn on the player so she can listen to her CD.

Sandy adds with her fingers now. I think they are introducing Math in school. She always asks me, “Mommy, what’s two fingers and one finger?” and then will let me count the fingers that she’s holding up. Of course I always try to make a mistake so she will have to correct me.

It feels like months since I last bought her a toy. When I checked the date, it was only 20 days LOL. To think I was so proud of myself for not shopping. And now as I write this, I’m planning to take advantage of the refurbished ipods being sold online so she can listen to ABBA anywhere.

On Parenting Articles

When you’re a first time mom, any kind of help is very much appreciated. Whether it’s from well-meaning relatives, friends, baby books or the Internet, I’m always thankful for extra knowledge. After all, what would I know about raising a child if I haven’t had any. And with the technology today, you can find out almost anything that you need just by logging in online. I’ve been a member of several parenting sites and blogs already but only recently came across Gurgle.com. My Sandy started school last year so I was reading all that I can to prepare myself and Sandy for school. That was when I saw the article How to cope with preschool illnesses from Gurgle. It was pretty helpful and just in time because Sandy got lice from her cousin. Read more

Sandy’s Latest Addiction – ABBA

Ever since she learned about them from her Papa, they are all she can think and talk about. She knows all their names, the way they pose, their songs, even their clothes from a certain shot. She loves their CD so much that she brings the CD sleeve (the one containing all their photos) with her wherever she goes. To the grocery store so she can browse through it while sitting in the shopping cart. Inside our car while she listens to their CD. To the bathroom, etc. One time she wanted to bring it to school but I drew the line there. I’m sure she’ll spend all her time looking at it or asking her teachers and classmates which ABBA member would they like to be.

It’s really funny when you hear her sing out of the blue. One minute she’ll be drawing on the bed, the next she’ll be singing “walking through an empty house, tears in my eyessssss…..“. Her voice is soooo cute that the words just seem out of place from her mouth. What more when she starts with, “I be cheated by you since I don’t know when ….. tat ta taran. tat ta taranan.” (that’s exactly how she sings Mama Mia). She knows how to operate our DVD player too so she doesn’t bother me anymore when she wants to listen to her music. She’ll just ask me for help when she wants to forward the CD so she can hear the song that she likes. One time she said, “Mommy please forward to Money Money” but I didn’t know which one and I was too lazy to check the CD case. So what I did is I just pressed forward to search and was shocked to hear her reject every song (she knows all the intro) because it’s not Money Money.

The photo above is her version of Anna by the way. When I told her to pose, she closed her mouth and did her best to look serious. When I asked why, she said because I’m copying Anna from ABBA.

Faster Claims with Electronic Medical Billing

I was reading an article today about reforming health care with electronic billing. It was my 50-year-old client who sent me the url because he wanted to ask if electronic medical billing is being implemented here. At first I couldn’t understand why he has to send it to me but then suddenly remembered our conversation / ranting sesssion on how slow insurance companies pay medical claims. We both had our own share of hospitalizations in the family last year and have the same issues when it comes to medical billing.

According to the article, Netalytics, a leader maker of automated clinic systems has chosen to implement a third party solution that is being offered by MPMsoft.

Happy Friday!

More updates soon! Just really busy at the moment.

Things at work are pretty crazy. Sometimes it’s enough to make me cry (from exhaustion and stress) but I try to remember that everything is just a challenge. And I know it’s partly my fault because I’m still bad at time management. We’re also house hunting this weekend so wish us luck! Hope we can find something nice at a reasonable price. :) We only have two months left after all.

By the way, I’m selling used stuff here. Please check it out, thanks.
