My Considerate Little Girl
Whenever I tell Sandy that something is expensive, I’m not really teaching her the value of money. I’m just telling her it’s expensive so we don’t have to buy it. It works with The Husband anyway bwahahaha. Seriously, she already has loads of stuff, some even unopened and two, I’m kind of in a saving mode these days but you already know that.
Sandy has a Toy Kingdom magazine and she asked me which ones are expensive. I told her that all items that have 4 digits/numbers are expensive while the 3-digit items are cheap. Since then, whenever she sees something that she likes, she “checks the price” before she shows it to me.
So while she was doing number 2 in the bathroom and reading her toy magazine (yes she needs to read while taking a poop), she suddenly said, “Mommy! I want to buy this doll! It’s not expensive, only three numbers“. When I checked, the doll is indeed cheap, only Php145.
One time while she’s resting on the bed, she exclaimed “Uh oh!!!“. She’s sort of a drama queen so imagine someone over-acting here. I thought she hurt herself but then she said,
“I don’t need a bike mommy!!! It’s soooo expensive. Look, it says 3-9-9-9, four numbers! Tell Papa to buy me a scooter instead mommy. It’s only three numbers.“.
So I said, “it’s okay if you want a bike, Papa will buy you one but we need to ask if he has money okay?“.
To which she replied, “No, only if he has extra money.”

Wordless Wednesday – Seeing Someone New
Princess Aurora has a new boyfriend.
Ugh.
My day started right. NOT. Our Internet connection sucks and we had a minor power interruption while I was talking to our Project Manager. Thankfully, the power is back so here I am blogging and researching about car lifts for my sideline project. Loading websites is still slow though. The only thing I can access is Live Writer (which is why I can blog), Twitter and Gmail. I doubt I’ll get anything done before lunch. It’s a good thing my boss already logged off so I won’t feel pressured to finish my tasks.
Max & Ruby / Leapster Games
Sandy loves this show but it’s not available at Disney channel anymore. I’ve been looking for DVDs anywhere but they are not very popular unlike Dora and Barney.
There are a few series being sold at Amazon but they are all region 1 so it won’t work on our dvd player. I really hope I can find one because not only Sandy will be thrilled to see Max and Ruby again, but watching it myself will surely take me back in time when Sandy was still a baby.
By the way, I gave in and shopped online thanks to shopping guru Peachy. Bought Sandy the games below because she’s so bored with her Dora and Letters on the Loose already.
It took me a long time to decide because if the game is too easy, she forgets about it quickly. But if I buy her a game for 7-year-olds, she will still need someone to play with her, which will defeat the purpose of keeping her busy on her own. According to the reviews, the games above should entertain her for hours. In Sandy’s world, should fall around 30-40 minutes tops.

Big Word
Sandy learns new words everyday. Whether it’s something she heard from me or her Papa, from her favorite shows or from her own creative mind, she delivers them with such drama. Most of the time I’m so surprised to hear her talk like an adult especially when she’s explaining why she did a naughty thing. She never fails to ask why she’s not allowed to do something and always has a ready answer if she’s not satisfied with my reply.
So after days of “ohhh fooey” when she’s sad, “what a buckeroo!” when she’s disappointed, “that’s a great idea you guys!” when she’s happy, her latest expression as of today is – EXASPERATE.
While I was putting on her socks and checking my laptop simultaneously for a reply from my boss, she suddenly said in a very adult-had-enough voice, “exasperate” followed by a big sigh.

Weekend Round Up
Our Valentine’s was anything but funny. We were supposed to attend a Valentine’s party with our friends but The Husband had stomach attacks again. It’s exactly just like when he was hospitalized after our Boracay trip. He hasn’t been feeling well since Friday so by Saturday afternoon, he knew we just couldn’t make it. We tried to wait it out and see if he will feel better but as expected (with our luck), it didn’t go away.
I also went to the Doctor and got a diagnosis for my skin rashes. It’s called pityriasis rosea, which I’ve already researched on the net as soon as we got home. More here.
Sunday, we had to drop by at Francis Square for our laptop battery. We then had brunch at Burgoo even though the poor Husband couldn’t eat as much as he wanted to. We did some grocery shopping in Rustan’s then headed home around 2:30. Now this was where things got perfect. Sandy was being very independent and wanted to play on her own. So The Husband and I rested for an hour or two while she was busy in her lola’s room. You probably think it’s nothing but for me, to be able to come home from a long tiring day and lie down / sleep as you wish is always a miracle. After reading the last post however, I couldn’t help but notice that I’ve just given the solution to my lack of sleep, even if it had to be forced down my throat.
