Sandy’s New Friend/s
Sandy doesn’t like to go to school sometimes. Like she has a choice in the future right, unless you’re enrolled in an online college? But lately, she’s been so excited and has been mentioning a boy named Kurt and sometimes another boy named AJ a lot. Even in her sleep, I can hear her muttering (Aj…Kurt….blah blah blah) and I wondered if she’s dreaming about them. Yesterday when her lip got bitten by an insect, I told her to skip school. Normally she’d agree but she hesitated and said she needs to go because …. she will miss Kurt! O di ba. Then she suddenly remembered her swollen lips and told me that she will have to cover it so Kurt won’t see it. I didn’t know if I should laugh or worry. Those two boys are 2-3 years older than her if I remember correctly so I doubt if they’d want anything to do with her. But apparently, they are very kind to her and plays with her from time to time even if they’re not classmates. When I asked Sandy why she likes them, she said because they are very polite boys, always saying thank you, you’re welcome, excuse me, and “Hi mommy!”. Hahaha. So now you know the way to win my little girl’s heart.
Time Off
I have a feeling that my rashes have something to do with me being overworked. I need to take break but taking vacations right now is not only expensive but also seem foolish especially if you’re worried about recession. Even my co-workers couldn’t afford to take more than two days of vacation for fear that they could be next in line. So yeah, I should stop visiting this Argentina travel website and just do what I can until the economy gets stable again. OR …. we can just go to Tagaytay for an overnight weekend stay and have that much needed R & R. It’s still gonna cost us but not as much as spending a five-day beach trip in Bohol again.
Gawd, those cheap local airfares from Cebu Pacific are too tempting!
Wordless Wednesday – Many Faces
Because it’s been awhile since I posted a photo of my darling angel.

Happy Tuesday!
My other blog has been suffering from negative thoughts and almost-ranting phase lately. So on this blog, I would like to concentrate on everything positive. Let’s start –
Sandy’s school is having a musical. I am so freaking excited. I hope she’ll perform without problems! She tends to get self-conscious when I’m around.
I’ve been sleeping since last weekend. This made me realize how good it feels to have a decent rest so I’m now trying to sleep as much as I can. To hell with work BWAHAHAHA. No really, I’m trying to balance work and rest and Sandy time by eliminating other things like chat and blog-hopping. I only indulge on these when I have time.
Speaking of work, I’ve been kicking ass lately.
Enough said.
I’m trying to stay positive that we will find a lot in a month or so. A sign would be good too but the closest that I can see is an exit sign.
Although my sideline earnings went down to almost 0, I’m still happy to have my fulltime work, which should’ve been enough in the first place. Sometimes, we just get a little bit greedy.
I’ve been taking photos again! Will upload them as soon as possible. Nothing huge, just a few Sandy chronicles.
Gossip Girl DVD marathon with Sandy! It’s our latest bonding time.
Girl’s Best Friend
I love jewelries, especially if they are gifts.
But if it’s me who’s buying, one of my favorite online stores is Holsted Jewelers. They sell very affordable fashion jewelry sets and other accessories like handbags, wallets, watches, shades and many more. Their gifts category is already considered a treasure, what with fabulous items ranging from $20-$50.
To give you an example:
‘Dress to Impress 5-Way Watch’ for only $29.60
Five-Piece Daytripper Mock Croc Handbag Ensemble $39-94
For me however, I would absolute adore any of the items below if ever I see them wrapped inside a pretty gift box. *wink wink*
You could say that I’ve gotten over my bracelet addiction (except for the charm above). I’m all about huge cocktail rings now after seeing them from Katie Holmes last month.
Doctor Search
Gawd, I still have red spots all over my upper body. I thought they will go away after drinking anti-allergy meds but they are so stubborn. I was hoping they were rashes from the detergent that was used in the laundry shop. However, I don’t wear long sleeves and the spots are now scattered down to my arms. I researched the net of course but had to stop after reading about someone who still has it after two years. The doctors said there’s no medication needed and just to let it pass. Well, it’s over two years already, how long should the guy wait? I could already imagine his social life.
I’m hoping to get answers next weekend.
TEN HOWs
How did you get one of your scars?
From chickenpox when I was 20 years old. I remember still having them when I attended graduation.
How did you celebrate your last birthday?
Celebrated it in Tagaytay where it rained for two days.
How are you feeling at this moment?
Sleep-deprived even if I did sleep over the weekend. It’s the reason why I hate eating chocolates. Once you taste it, there’s no stopping.
How did your night go last night?
Just like every night, still swamped at work and trying to meet deadlines.
How did you do in high school?
Not so shabby. I’m in one of the top sections plus I was pretty popular back then.
How did you get the shirt you’re wearing?
It’s an old sleeveless shirt from my pregnancy days. I still wear it because it’s so so comfortable.
How often do you see your best friend?
Rarely.
How much money did you spend last month?
Nothing aside from monthly household bills.
I’m trying to be good when it comes to shopping.
How old do you want to be when you get married?
24 and that’s what I did.

Dining Out?
I’ve always thought of online guides as blessings. Whether it’s about traveling, dining, or entertainment, these guides are very useful in filtering your options so you can end up with the best choice. Take Villagevoice.com’s New York Restaurants guide for example. My friend wanted to treat his husband to a nice fine dining restaurant but had no idea where to go. Just by visiting the restaurant guide however, she managed to choose the perfect place by specifying a price range, features, neighborhood and most important of all, the type of cuisine. So easy and quick! And if I may add one thing, once you found several candidates, I suggest checking out if any of them have been reviewed recently. Currently, the guide holds up to 444 reviews that you’ll have no problems deciding where to spend that important night.
Demanding Attention
I’m very busy. It’s what I say all the time, to my family, friends, chatmates, clients. When Sandy grows up, she’ll always remember these words. There’s no doubt about that.
While watching a show about this boy who thought his father couldn’t play with him, she said (while looking at me sideways and smiling mischievously)
Sandy: Ayyyyyyyy, he’s just like me. My mommy is always buzzyyyyy. No one will play with me.
When I couldn’t give her a bath because my boss is talking to me and I couldn’t very well leave in the middle of a conference.
Sandy: Why?? Why? Why couldn’t you give me a bath? You’re my mommy!
When she’s trying to show me something and I tell her one sec for the hundredth time (because if I stop, I would forget what I’m trying to solve)
Sandy: I WILL NOT TALK TO YOU FOREVER!!!! (Which will make me go to her so I can tickle her and make her laugh for a while.)
When I tell her to play outside and wear her dress and ballet flats, she automatically answers,
Sandy: NO, I don’t like.
When I tell her that it’s going to be so much fun if she plays outside, she’ll say,
Sandy: Why? Are you coming with me?
When I find time, I do play with her as much as I can. And something tugs my heart all the time whenever her face lights up after realizing that I’m finally free.
Sandy: Hurrah!!!! Are we gonna play??? Are you done working??? I’m sooooooooooo happpyyy!!!!
I’m not exaggerating, that’s how happy she is. And it’s so rare that we get to spend time together anymore. I don’t want to be like those parents who don’t have time for their children. I know I should do something about this. But I’m just really swamped plus we can’t whine about our jobs, given the recession everywhere you look. Soon, everything will settle down at work. When that time comes, I hope Sandy is still young enough to want my undivided attention 24/7. Most importantly, she wouldn’t be too old (and busy with friends’ stuff) to talk to her mom anymore.
Weight Loss
A lot of my friends asks how I lost my post-pregnancy weight. It’s simple really. Just breastfeed and make sure that your baby has allergies so you can’t eat dairy products. But seriously, I guess I’m just lucky.that I don’t gain a lot even if I eat like a farmer. Now that I’ve weaned Sandy, I find it harder to keep the pounds off my stomach and thighs. There’s no time to exercise too because I’m always swamped at work. This is why whenever I see something that says click here for weight loss pills, I can’t help but be tempted. But I’ve gotten used to eating healthy and avoiding taking in any foreign products while breastfeeding for three years that it’s hard for me to try any weight loss pills. However, if worse comes to worse, I don’t think I’d hesitate especially if it worked with people I know.
