Breathing = Relaxing
Have I mentioned lately how we’re trying to lead a healthy lifestyle now? I think I did. Although it’s not as extreme as totally eliminating fats, caffeine, and alcohol, I still believe that we’re doing our best. I’ve been visiting natmedtalk.com lately, a natural health forum wherein you can discuss all about your health issues and share tips on how to improve the quality of your life. There are discussions on nutrition, men’s health, women’s health, cancer, dentistry, heart health and many more.
I’ve been hanging out at the Mind, Energy and Exercise sub-forum because I’ve been trying to avoid stress lately. I’ve read on meditation several times and also learned that exercising slower may help build muscles better. There’s a discussion about healing emotions and body with sound which sounded so Oprah I know, but still, you have to accept that it does sound interesting. Someone also shared the techniques on breathing to relieve anxiety and fear. I have tried it without success but just because I’ve already convinced myself that it wouldn’t work. But maybe next week, when things become very busy again, I will have a reason to try again.
Insured
I think I’ve had enough insurance lead to last a lifetime. Ever since we finished paying off The Husband’s insurance, I’ve decided to get another one for myself instead of upgrading my current package. Putting all your eggs in one basket is definitely not a good idea so I’m looking for more options online and through word of mouth. Because of this, I’ve been receiving multiple quotes left and right that I’m having trouble choosing anymore. But I know it will still depend on how much more we can add to our annual payments.
The most important thing is that our daughter’s future is secured. That is definitely one thing money can buy.

Make Over
I did it again! Okay so they are far from perfect but I can’t help but be amazed on the developers of the makeover program. You can line your eyes, resize hair without making it pixelated and trace everything from your eyebrows, face, chin and lips. Have one here.

Without make up
With make up.
Try it now. It’s really cool despite the evidence above LOL.
Well, enough of that for now. I’ve been at it for 2 hours already when I should be researching about Blue Cross North Carolina for a project that I’m working on.
Things to Do Before End of Week
Blog about our Holy Week. It wasn’t much but I really enjoyed it.
Make sure that 50% of my work is done before Thursday.
Change my hair. I’m not sure whether I should have it curled or just have a haircut.
Visit a potential property and take photos.
Have a meeting with one of my oldest clients and talk about our biggest web design bid in the four years that we’ve been working together.
Enjoy the big day on Friday! Trin from Twitter is hosting a grand EB and I need to be at my most fabulous.
Coffee and Cocoa – Not So Guilty
I am all about health now. Face it, we’re not getting any younger and although I could say that I’m much lovelier now than my younger self ten years ago, there are still things that we can’t do anymore. One great example is eating a whole plate of bacon. I’m serious. I’ve tried it last week and it left me breathless and dizzy. My appetite was satisfied, no doubt about that but I’m going to think twice before indulging again.
Anyway, I came across a very interesting article from a health blog that I’d like to share with you. According to the health fellow, coffee and cocoa can help reduce the risk of cancer. Cocoa contains powerful antioxidants that positively impacts immune function and help interfere with the growth of abnormal / cancerous tissues. As for coffee, the post linked to an article that shows evidence on how coffee can be associated with reduced risk of liver, kidney and pre-menopausal breast cancers. I’d leave you to check out the blog so you can read about the article. All I can say now is that if this is true, I’d be very much happy knowing that something good might come out of my coffee addiction.
I Need a Vacation
Who doesn’t? Unless you leave near the beach or have a big house overlooking Taal in Tagaytay, that is. The heat is suffocating and as much as I want to download movies the whole day, my laptop simply needs rest. To keep our room as cold as possible without turning on the air condition all the time, I make sure that all windows and doors are open. I turn off the lights unless we need it so I’m also saving up on light bulbs which I oddly enough, we change every month.
So it’s a Tuesday, we have no reservations anywhere and The Husband is not sure if he will go to work tomorrow or not. All I can do is wait until the last minute and call every resorts, hotels, bed and breakfasts to beg them to take us.
Sandy’s Moving Up Day part II
More photos from Sandy’s Moving Up Day / Musical. Preview here.
Just before we leave the house. She doesn’t take naps anymore which explains how sleepy she was. Still, she gave her best and didn’t throw a tantrum. She got really hungry though and finished an entire packet of skyflakes.
Putting on her lipstick – her first time.
With her classmate David
Just love Sandy’s face here.
Most of her performance photos were blurred and these were the only ones that I can save.
They were dolls here which eventually will come to life just like the Velveteen Rabbit
Still pretending to be a doll while her owner dances with her.
Singing the finale song.
A decent photo of the “graduate”
With her Papa just before the big march.
Her awards.
Before the programme ended, they sang Thanks to you to the parents. She wasn’t looking at me the whole time only because there was a surprise in the middle of the song. When they reached the chorus, they took out the rose that they were hiding in their backs and gave it to their parents. My mom was near tears here LOL.
I know this is just the beginning but I really can’t help but think about her future. Will she be smart but hate school like her Papa? Or will she be more like me, a social butterfly, class clown and cheerleader? Will she be successful without asking for anyone’s help? And most important of all, will she be kind and compassionate? It was exactly the same feeling when she first walked down the aisle as a flower girl. It’s like everything is in fast forward mode and you can’t do anything but watch it happen and make sure you don’t miss anything.
Shopping for Electronics
We are so excited about our weekend because we’ll visit a warehouse selling surplus electronics. Sandy has been looking for the ipod that I promised her so I hope we can find something really cheap and useable. I’m also hoping to find a decent point and shoot camera that is user-friendly enough for her. She’s been showing interest in taking pictures lately and I also want a backup camera just in case I don’t want to bring our DSLR. The Husband on the other hand wants to upgrade his very outdated phone to something that at least uses a memory card. Our weekend is sounds expensive huh? But I’m almost 100% sure that we’ll end up buying an ipod video for the little girl first as her “graduation” present.
