Monday Blues
Thanks to Litzie’s twitter msg this morning, I too, have Monday blues. I woke up feeling refreshed and a bit excited to get started with my week but as soon as I’m done checking my emails, I suddenly want to just lie down on our bed and watch my recently downloaded movies. But bills are piling up so I have to literally drag myself away from all distractions. I also remembered all the things that I need to do this week – Sandy’s enrollment, my “secret” bwahahaa and small projects that I’ve been neglecting for weeks.
As for weekend round-up, I had another very nice lunch with the girls last Friday. See here.
Saturday was my SIL’s birthday, Mia, so they spent the night at our place. Sandy was in heaven of course because she misses her cousin Chloe so bad. I can’t remember exactly what I did the entire weekend except lying down around the house while the kids play, chatting with my SIL (it’s nice to have another woman in the house that you can talk to, you know) and trying to work every now and then. I’m happy to say that I’ve been really productive last weekend even if it was raining hard and all I could think about is sleeping.
Back to School?
I overheard Sandy talking to to someone on the phone yesterday. The conversation went like this:
No, I don’t want to go to school … (pause)
Hmmm yes, yes …. yes. No, I don’t want. (pause)
Well, because I will miss my house, my room and my toys.(pause)
I don’t want to go to school. My home is the best.(pause)
Okay mommy, phone for you it’s your turn!
It was her school’s head teacher asking if Sandy will be enrolling anytime soon. I found out that they have two schedules, 7:30-9:30 AM and 10AM-12PM but the 2nd class is not yet final and will depend on the number of kids who will enroll. I told her to reserve a slot for Sandy on the 2nd class because I have no doubts that the early class will be a nightmare for the both of us. Still, if that’s the only one available, I’d still take it so we can both benefit from waking up early.
Wordless Wednesday – Catch Me
Still Sick
Boo. I’ve been resting and sleeping as much as I can. In fact, I didn’t touch my laptop for two straight days not because it was my decision but because I was so dizzy to do anything. The good thing is I lost some weight so I’m saying goodbye to best diet pills advertisements for the meantime.
To give me my much needed rest, The Husband and Sandy went out on a date last Saturday. They watched Night at the Museum 2 and ate at Bubba Gump. The Husband said that Sandy was so behaved and it was like going out with a big girl. I slept the entire afternoon after guiltily watching a tv show on cable. I wanted to watch a movie too but The Husband and I saw Angels and Demons last Friday so I’m good. I saw my friends that Friday night as well and while were having dinner and catching up with our lives, The Husband waited for me at Cappriciosa with an iPod and beer as company. Tried to get home early because my cold and headache were becoming unbearable. Luckily, Sandy was already sleeping so all I had to do was wear The Husband’s sweater, his thickest socks, my pjs and I was all set for a long, restful sleep.
I don’t have a cold anymore but I have the beginnings of a bad cough. I’m fine except that I’m worried that I will pass it on to Sandy. I’m trying to catch up on work too because I have a big meeting tomorrow for a project that I’ve been working on for months.
Jewels and More
I love jewelries! More so if they are cheap but look like the real thing. If you’re like me, I highly suggest that you go to HolstedJewelers.com right now. They sell the most fabulous designer costume jewelry without putting a hole on your pocket. Nothing beats the real thing I know but if you don’t have the money, why spend your life in debt when you can enjoy the next best thing. The jewelries at Holsted are not available in any retail store so you can be assured that not everyone wears what you’re wearing. My latest favorite is their stackable jewelry.
Sterling silver ring set for $42.
Multicolor Mayfair 5-piece stack ring for $69
The Weekend
I have colds and I don’t feel well. The timing is perfect because I am meeting up with my girlfriends tonight. This kind of thing happens once in a blue moon so I don’t think I can re-sched. My friend won’t be here that long and her schedule is pretty limited to family outings until she goes back to US. I’ve already took some meds and drank two glasses of calamansi juice. All that’s left for me to do is hope that it will go away tonight.
I really want to watch Angels & Demons today. I was so excited when I found out that the first book will be turned into a movie and got even more psyched when I learned that Ewan McGregor will play the Camerlengo. I hope it will not disappoint me as much as Da Vinci did.
Happy to note that I’ve booked clients until the end of July. I can take it easy again in the next two month and keep focus on what I do instead of panicking where I will get my next batch of clients.
I can’t believe it’s the 22nd of May already. A few more weeks go to and Sandy will start school again. Poor her!
I hope her schedule won’t be too early because God forbid if I had to drag myself from the bed at 6 in the morning everyday. Bad mommy I know!
Next Week’s To-Dos
Go shopping! NOT. But I just came from a fab online store so that’s the first thing that came to my mind. But anyway, here’s my real to-dos:
Setup another savings account for credit card bills and other payments.
Contact an old colleague for a collaboration project.
Download a new driver for my laptop’s audio.
See if I can fix my internal microphone so I won’t have to use the headset anymore.
Buy a fitness DVD. About time I lose weight again.
Teach Sandy how to write S. Since she got addicted to drawing, she forgot how to write the S on her name properly. Not that I mind. She just gets frustrated whenever she sees that her S is backwards.
Wordless Wednesday – Waiting
Online Baby Shops
One of the things that I like about motherhood is shopping for the baby. There’s no guilt because you’re spending money on the most important person in the whole world. And if you see online shops like babynest.com, you wouldn’t be able to resist shopping. I buy baby gifts online because there are so many options and most important of all, unlimited discounts and special offers. At The Nest Baby Shop, they specialize in personalized baby items so you can be assured that your gift is unique. Take a look at this pretty tee and tutu set for $29.95. You can add your little girl’s initial on the tee and her name on the pants. It comes in 6M-12M too so imagine how lovely your little baby girls will look.
More items that you can personalize from The Nest Baby Shop: rompers, tees and onsies, blankets and bedding, bibs and burp clothes, utensils, diaper bags, favors and gift sets. If you’re on a very tight budget, simply choose from the gifts under $25, $50, $100 or better yet, visit the clearance section and see what you can hoard for $20.
MBAP Summer Getaway at Tagaytay Highlands
Just a quick roundup of our weekend. The MBAPS.
Side kwento: Sandy has been running a high fever since yesterday morning and having stomach pains. We went to the ER last night for some tests and she’s now under observation if the pain will worsen. So far she’s doing fine unlike yesterday when she wasn’t talking that much. You’d know she’s sick if she stops being her usual talkative self.
Anyway, back to the summer getaway:
- Woke up at 6AM last Saturday hoping we’d reach Tagaytay early. We had so many activities in mind – animal farm, fishing, basketball, horseback, funicular. But I’ve forgotten so many things that we arrived at exactly 9AM and spent the first 30 minutes looking for a hotel where we can stay the night.
- We reached TH 15 minutes before 10AM which was the scheduled time for the daddies’ basketball game. The zoo looks very well maintained and the fishes were amazing. Too bad I wasn’t able to take lots of photos because like I said, we’re running late and the other daddies were already “warming up” at the gym.
- Basketball went pretty well. I think it was a great idea that we started with this activity so the daddies will bond too. That way, they will be energized and very much happy to take care of the kids in the afternoon. (yes, there was a hidden agenda) While they were playing ball, the mommies were doing what they know best – multitasking. We were either cheering the dads, taking photos and videos, playing with the kids while chatting at the same time.
- All the kids went swimming except for Sandy, Joaqui and the babies. I’m not sure why Sandy didn’t want to swim but once she made up her mind, there’s no way that you can force her. She ended up drawing the entire day which was fine because at least, she was enjoying herself.
