Wordless Wednesday – I Love French Toast!
A “Beautiful” Career
I’ve always wondered how different my life will be if I chose another career. Something fun and equally challenging, like fashion or beauty? I know someone who resigned from her job as a bank manager so she can pursue a career in hair and make up. She’s much happier now and although the pay isn’t as big because she just started, the rewards at the end of the day are much higher. If you have a passion for making people beautiful but don’t know where to begin, check out this list cosmotology schools and see if any is available near your place. The site also offers various articles like paying your way to school, which career in beauty is right for you, hottest trends and several beauty blogs that can help you improve your skill. There’s no such thing as being too old to change careers. It’s not everyday that you can tell yourself how happy you are that you love what you’re doing.
Aging Gracefully
1. If you could pause your aging process, at what age would you choose do to it? (Meaning you would not live forever, but live for 90 or so years at whatever age you chose).
I would like to live up to 80 so I can see Sandy and her future brother/sister grow up, be successful in their careers and grow old to take care of their children and grandchildren.
2. At what age did you (or will you) consider yourself to be an adult?
When I turned 23 and had to live on my own.
3. What do you think will be your most annoying trait when you’re a senior?
Nothing! I’ll be a very cool grandma. ![]()
4. How does your current life compare with where you thought you’d be at this point when you were young?
I’m poorer but happier than I’ve ever thought I would be.
5. When would you like to retire? What do you see yourself doing with your life after retirement?
I’d like to retire when I turn 50 I guess. I’m such a workaholic that I can’t see myself doing nothing at all. Maybe The Husband and I can buy a farm or a place in Batanes and stay there for the rest of our lives. That was our first dream anyway.
Back to School
A year ago. She was 2.9 when she attended the Toddler level.
Last Week. 3.9 yrs old, Nursery. I had to edit the photos because The Husband was too lazy when he took them. I’ll have to take another batch for scrapbooking purposes.
She has the same look (her father’s) except longer hair. Finally, I know! Her uniform from last year was up to the middle of her thighs already which means she grew a lot. I hope her new one will last for one year because she just keeps getting taller every month.
Her daily routine:
- Wake up at 8:30 AM
- Watch her shows (Word World and Dibo the Gift Dragon) while I check my emails. She’s also eating whatever breakfast is available. This morning when I asked her what she wanted, she said “it’s hard to tell, I’ll know when I see them” so I let her open her “cabinet of goods” and she chose lemon cake.
- Around 9:20 AM is her bath time. Her ate Arlyn gives her a bath but if I’m not talking to or emailing with a client, I’m the one who do it just like today. I miss doing little things like this and I could see that Sandy really enjoys having her mommy wash her hair.
- Get dressed at 9:40 AM then watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while waiting for her trike service. It’s only a 5-minute ride by the way.
- For two hours, I can work, chat, surf or even exercise if I want to only I’m too lazy to do it.
- By 12PM, I’ll hear the sound of the tricycle and Sandy saying “Mommy I’m home, I miss you. School was not boring, it’s the best.” Yep, it’s like that everyday. I’m starting to feel like it’s scripted so I won’t have to worry about her not liking school.
Medical Equipments
There’s no better website when buying medical equipments than AllegroMedical.com. You can find everything that you need from catheters to wheelchairs, to sleeping aids to exam gloves, to pain relief and skin care. Allegro Medical was the first ecommerce site in medical equipment and home health care in 1998. Since then, they have expanded their offerings and included other consumer retail products like maternity and baby supplies, nutritional dietary supplements, housewares and many more. Shopping online is easy. You can shop by category, by brand or by condition. The site also offers rss feed for their blog, which features guides when shopping for medical and health equipments.
All About Blogging
1. How long have you been blogging?
I’ve been blogging for five years now. My first home was my very angry livejournal blog.
2. What inspired you to start a blog and who are your mentors?
No one really. I’m addicted to blog ever since.
3. Are you trying to make money online, or just doing it for fun?
For fun. I’ve always liked writing so I consider this my online diary or newsletter for my friends to see Sandy.
4. Tell me 3 things you LOVE about being online.
- Shopping
- Get answers to almost anything
- Meeting different people around the world
5. Tell me 3 things you STRUGGLE within the online world.
- I’m struggling to find time to work whenever I’m online. I just get distracted with all the celebrity blogs and discounts on online shopping a lot.
Friday Fill-Ins
1. All children alarm their parents, if only because you are forever expecting them to hurt themselves no matter how careful they are.
2. Show me a good loser and I will show you a real winner
3. A long, peaceful day at the beach is like eating an entire box of chocolate liqueurs at one time.
4. Too bad that all the people who know how to run the country are busy spending our taxes on expensive beach houses and expensive cars.
5. I have yet to hear a man ask for advice on how to combine pain and pleasure
6. It is impossible to think of any good meal, no matter how plain or elegant, without garlic and butter in it.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to a marathon of my favorite shows, tomorrow my plans include resting the whole day and Sunday, I want to have a lovely dinner outside!

Saturday Six – Episode 272
1. If you know someone who is interested in you happens to be high maintenance, are you as likely to date them anyway?
I really don’t know because I’m the woman, I’m the one who is supposed to be “maintained”
2. Do you get more frustrated by your home being in a state of disarray or your workplace being in a state of disarray?
I work at home so the two needs to be organized all the time.
3. You decide to go to the grocery store where you don’t expect to run into anyone you know. How dressed up are you likely to get?
Jeans and a shirt.
4. Take the quiz: Are You High Maintenance?
You Are Low Maintenance |
Compared to most people, you are incredibly easy going. To be honest, you are truly a breath of fresh air. You are open minded about trying new things, and you’re not upset when things don’t work out. You are willing to go along to get along. And your attitude helps you truly enjoy life! |
5. How important is it to you that the person you would date would be roughly “in your league” lookswise?
I haven’t thought of it before – I always go for who I want, not bound by “leagues”
6. Do you prefer spending more on a birthday gift for a close friend of having them spend more on a gift for you?
I like to give, so I’d spend more for a friend!
It’s a Friday / Ms. ABBA
And a holiday to boot! Just had a pretty exciting morning with my Twitter friends here. The result is I’m pretty exhausted after waking up too early but I can’t go back to sleep. Not when everyone is awake and there are so many things that I need to do. First on my list is to research for a cheap Linksys router for my mom-in-law so she can finally have wi-fi in her office downstairs.
As for the little girl, Sandy is still addicted to ABBA. Even her cousin Chloe now adores ABBA because of her Ate Sandy. As I write this, Sandy’s watching her ABBA concert DVD and singing Thank You for the Music. It’s funny when she sings their songs. Imagine a very cute little voice singing adult lyrics like “you’re so hot, teasing me”, “I’ve been cheated by you” and “I’m nothing special, in fact, I’m a bit of a bore”.
When you ask her what the song “you’re so hot” is about, she’ll say it’s a song about the SUN because the sun is hot. When she was singing Mama Mia “I’ve been cheated by you”, she frowned and asked me “Hey mommy! Who’s cheating someone? That’s bad!!! That’s not allowed”. Her favorite is Waterloo though. She always hums this while playing, resting and drawing.
I’ve recorded all this in video but sadly I still have no idea how to download it on my laptop. Maybe next week I can bug The Husband to do it so I can upload it for everyone to see.
Happy Friday!

I am Dzoi, a 28 year old Filipina who currently works as a web designer. I am a loving wife to my equally loving husband Sherwin and a mommy cow to my 2-year-old daughter, Sandy.
