Three Times Thursday

1. What’s the weather like today? Describe it.
It’s unbelievable hot! So unlike our August months. I knew I should’ve planned that beach trip but I was afraid the weather might ruin it for us.

2. Did you/are you going to do anything productive (sure, it’s relative) today? What did you/are you up to?
I’m always productive. Even if I don’t want to, I don’t have any choice but finish my work or else I’d be swamped the next day.

3. Do you need to make some phone calls or send some emails to people that you haven’t heard from lately? If so, who? Here’s your reminder to do it!
Email a client about a project that have been delayed for so long because they are unable to provide more copy for the website.

Wedding Day Blues

1. If you have been or are married, tell us about your wedding. If you are not, tell us how would you want it to be.
It was simple, intimate and very romantic for me. Got married in my dream church (ever since I was a little girl) and had the party in a quaint old house that was build a couple of hundred years ago.

2. What age would you encourage your children to get married?
I’d say 26-28 for girls and 30 and up for boys :D . Most important of all, they should have stable jobs and really know what they’re getting themselves into.

3. Who got married at the last wedding that you attended?
A high school friend.

4. Do you enjoy weddings and receptions?
Oh yes especially the ceremony. They never fail to make me cry.

5. Have you cried at a wedding?
Always.

6. Would you prefer a lavish event or a intimate ceremony?
Intimate. See my dream wedding on number 1. :)

7. Have you ever been in some one’s wedding party? If yes, do tell.
Yes and I always enjoy it.

8. Does a wedding make you happy and sentimental or grouchy and skeptical?
Happy. What can I say? I love weddings!

9. Why do you think our divorce rate is so high?
Too many differences that they never worked on before they got married.

Weddings and Dream Travels

I’m a fan of destination weddings. In fact, if ever I get a change to renew our vows, I’d like to have it in one of the Karisma hotels in Riviera Maya. Imagine having your ceremony in a long stretch of white sandy beaches surrounded with coconut trees and the smell of salt in the air. Some of them have their very own beach wedding chapel too if you want to hold the ceremony indoors. For newlyweds or honeymooners, make sure to book the ocean front Casita Suites that include veranda hammocks and king-sized jacuzzis with window-front views. Of course, any dream vacation won’t be completed without great food and The Swim-up offers exactly that with their five-star dining in seven signature restaurants such as El Cocotal, D’Italia and La Carreta to name a few. Lastly, pamper yourself with beachside spa treatments, milk baths and aromatic massages. Even if you don’t like lying down all day watching the sun and water, this resort also offers activities such as scuba clinics, hikes to local ruins and beach-side fitness classes.

Early Mornings

… are not really my style. But ever since we moved Sandy to 7:30 AM class, I had no choice but to wake up at 7AM. I trained Sandy to sleep early and all that but it’s always the same every morning. She has trouble opening her eyes and sometimes wouldn’t even budge no matter how loud I turn on the TV. I feel bad for her to be experiencing this so soon. I didn’t hate school when I was a kid but I loathed waking up so early I find myself looking forward to weekends. Come to think of it, we all look forward to weekends regardless of age!

Anyway, I was happy last night because Sandy just finished her exams and now has a two-day off. I knew she’d take advantage and wake up late so I spent hours last night watching Step Up 2 and reading my ebook. But she didn’t. At exactly 7:10 AM, I could hear her saying “mommy, mommy” and when she couldn’t wake me up, she started tossing and turning it would be impossible to continue sleeping. To summarize, I told her to please watch her show while I catch some more sleep. Only I wasn’t able to because the TV was on and I kept thinking about work piling up.

Now I’m close to having another cup of coffee just to function properly. If there’s one good thing about Sandy’s early schedule though, it’s that she takes 2-3 hour naps in the afternoon now. She’s much happier and more active. Plus she eats like a horse we have to make sure her ‘snacks cabinet’ has enough for one week.

Failed Attempt to Exercise

An update about my latest project called “Losing Weight”. There’s actually no update. I did try the treadmill for even the machine refused to help. After walking for five minutes, it just died. I was half frustrated for getting dressed (put on running shoes actually) and making a few stretch exercises but also half relieved because I don’t have to continue running. A friend suggested ellipticals but I don’t have the budget nor the will to try anything new. I’m giving myself until next week so The Husband can also check what’s wrong with the treadmill. And while he’s at it, it won’t help to drop a few hints how he needs to work out to for the sole reason of “inspiring” me. ;)

Back to Big Size

I know I always say how I will never search for the best weight loss supplements because I rarely gain weight. Boy was I wrong. Looking at my current photos, I can’t help but notice how my arms got wider again. I got lazy and thought that even if I stopped breastfeeding, I wouldn’t gain a lot. Even Sandy calls me “chubby arms” now. She covers my upper arm with my sleeves, which I’ve taken to rolling upwards because of the hear, and say “Mommy, cover your arm it’s big!”.

I already asked The Husband to support me on my willingness to lose weight. He said he will run again so I’d feel inspired to run too. Well, good luck to both of us because we’re just both lazy and prefer to lie down on the bed or couch to watch TV all day if we can.

Insured Again

I believe I had enough life insurance quote to last me a lifetime. As soon as we finished paying for The Husband’s, we’ve decided to upgrade mine, hence the numerous proposals on my inbox. I originally wanted to pull out my existing policy but I’ve already paid a couple of years and don’t think I can let it go to waste. The annual payment isn’t that high so I think we can afford to add another one, if not upgrade. What’s important is Sandy and her future siblings will be fine even when we’re gone.
