Pre-Christmas Events

It’s only now that I get a chance to blog. Not only we were so busy and tired but I got sick as well!

After shopping for new tiles for the bathroom last December 22, we went to The Legend Villas to celebrate my brother-in-law’s birthday and so that the kids can have a sleepover as well. Oh how happy these two were when they realized they will sleep in one room.

With my still not so heavy self, JP (BIL), Mia (SIL), Chloe and Sandy.

We had a really lovely buffet breakfast courtesy of the celebrant. I had nilupak, sapin-sapin and biko for dessert – pinoy treats that I wouldn’t normally be able to eat.

After breakfast, went to the swimming pool area for a bit of swimming.

The water was so cold that the kids and adults were shivering whenever they leave the water. I think this was how Sandy and Chloe got their colds and cough which then they passed on to me. So yes, I was sick during the holidays and with my pregnancy, it was a bit harder to recover. I just felt so tired and nauseous the entire time but it was still good knowing Sandy had the time of her life.

Merry Christmas!

Sandy’s Early Christmas Gift

This is what we got for Sandy this Christmas. She wanted a bike and a scooter but I told her she’s too young for a scooter. I also said it will be too expensive if we buy both and that she can’t have everything. We all love to spoil our kids but you never know, soon, she might not be as sweet as she is now and learn to throw tantrums if she doesn’t get what she wants.

Anyway, I’m so glad she’s not a nerd anymore haha. Seriously, all she wants to do at home is watch TV, read books and draw from morning till night. Now she can’t wait to go out in the afternoons and play with her friends. Her friend Zoe has a bike as well and they ride together for an hour or so. Then they’ll settle in the park so they can play pretend with the other little girls.

Just look at her smile. She was so excited to show me that she now knows how to pedal properly that she couldn’t wait for me to finish taking her photos.

I’ll do everything I can in my power just to see her smile like this everyday.

A Post About Sandy

Who else?

My big darling princess is exactly that, a darling. Now that she will be an ate soon, I could see lots of changes in her. So she’s more clingy than usual. She cries when I leave the house when it never bothered her before. She wants embrace at night and wouldn’t be able to sleep unless me and her Papa are lying down beside her. She also gets cranky all the time and tends to lose her temper at the smallest thing. But other than that ….

She is such a sweetheart. She takes care of me, always careful not to be noisy when she’s playing so she wouldn’t wake me up when I’m napping. She hates to disturb me and would rather call her yaya or Papa to do the things she couldn’t do. She kisses my tummy and talks to her baby brother/sister. She tells him not to move too much because it’s making me sick. She plans all the things she’d want to do with the baby. And whenever I do something to her like carry her, put her on my lap, put her sleep on my shoulder or just hang out with her in the middle of the day, she’d always say, “Mommy, when the baby comes out, we’ll do this to him okay?”

And just this morning, when she saw me looking gloomy because of morning sickness again, she prayed loudly:

Papa Jesus, please make my mommy well. Make her sickness go away please.

Papa Jesus, please make my baby brother well too. And tell him not to be too kulit so mommy will not get dizzy.

Please help me not to be kulit so mommy will be happy.

Please make my bones stronger (don’t know why haha) and the town nice and happy.

Thank you.

We are so blessed to have a daughter like her.

Best Things in Life Are Free

Had an amazing dream today. There was a special sale that only selected people can go to. I wasn’t sure why I was included but felt lucky nonetheless. The first step is to catch as many golden balls as you can then you’ll use these balls to purchase the items in the store. I caught around ten then went to buy a Victorian tub, some copper kitchen sinks, two expensive newborn furniture and a pair of shoes. In my dreams, I was able to carry them all which should’ve told me that I was dreaming. And then I entered a room filled with designer bags. Read more

Portraits and Lights

Just found out that we’ll be celebrating our Christmas eve with some of The Husband’s relatives. I’m sure the house will be jampacked and the kids will have a blast. We do need to have some lighting fixtures though. I want to have some Christmas portraits taken in the living room but the lighting is so bad there. If we don’t have enough time to buy new ones, I’ll just have to “nag” The Husband to do his best with his camera. After all, it’s only once a year when our house gets filled with relatives. :) I really can’t wait for Christmas!

The Workplace

Just sharing some happy thoughts today. This month alone, I had three calls asking if I’d like to be interviewed as a web development team lead. It’s nice to know that even without going from one job search site to another, agencies can still get hold of my old resume. And to think that they are interested in me because of my old resume, what more if they see my updated one? I’m not in any way bragging but the last time I updated my resume was about a year ago and I have learned so many things since then. Anyway, I hope when the time comes that I find myself wanting to join the corporate world again, I’d have as many offers as I’m getting now. Until then, I’m still happy being a freelancer. :)

Weekend Update – Papa’s Birthday / Sandy’s Field Trip at Ocean Park

Last Thursday was my big baby’s birthday. Was supposed to order at Conti’s but when I called them, you need to order 3-4 days before the event. We ended up ordering pizza, chicken with mojos and Italian sausage pasta from Shakey’s  for his birthday dinner. The chicken was so good that my morning-all-day sickness went away for a few hours.

After dinner, Sandy gave his Papa the card that she made and then our secret gift. I ordered it from Faye a few months ago and it arrived last November so imagine how hard it was for me not to say anything. The Husband was surprised and very happy when he saw our present. I’m glad I didn’t tell Sandy what it was because I know she’d tell her Papa as she can never keep secrets from him.

Friday was Sandy’s field trip at Ocean Park and Repertory Philippines. She was so excited to go and kept saying how she loved riding the bus. Ocean Park was pretty crowded for my taste so you’ll have to make sure that your kids are with you at all times. The marine life is amazing though, not mentioning the very cool Mermaid show that Sandy really loved!

After Oceanpark, we went to Onstage in Greenbelt to watch Jack and the Beanstalk. I was surprised that the production was very colorful. Even the giant looked so loveable! Sandy was scared at first whenever the light goes off but when she saw the giant, she just couldn’t help laughing at him. I think people of all ages will love this play. It was so unlike anything I was expecting I can’t help but become mesmerized when Jack “reached” the castle through the beanstalk.

Saturday morning was spent at the OB’s clinic – our little one is jumping and dancing at 12weeks! We then had a nice late lunch at Outback for The Husband’s post-birthday celebration and some Christmas shopping. Spent the whole day in bed yesterday while Sandy enjoyed another weekend just playing and hanging out with her two favorite people in the world – her parents.

Stress-free Family Vacation

The number one requirement that I have whenever we book a hotel is the size of the room. With Sandy always in tow, we just can’t risk having her bored or feel too cooped up in a small room. The next requirement is that the hotel must have kiddie amenities such as play area, kiddie pool, DVD player and a 24/7 shop/restaurant where we can order anytime just in case she gets hungry. This is why I really love the Azul Beach Resort by Karisma. They provide all the things I mentioned and more. They have a kids’ club with Fisher-PriceĀ® toys, kids pool and beach playground, plenty of beach activities such as balloon wars and night pajama parties.

And just because you’re married with kids doesn’t mean you can enjoy any of the cancun honeymoons Karisma hotels has to offer. Because at Azul Beach, you can have beachfront sky massages, candlelight dinners on the beach, have butlers deliver picnic baskets to your canopied beach bed and anything else that normal couples do. I know I would stay there if I can! Just looking at the room above makes me want to book a trip immediately. If only I have the money and not pregnant right now. :)

Holiday Photos – Astoria

Here are some more photos from last week’s party with our friends. These were taken right before the guests arrived. Sandy was in her best element because she’d be wearing her favorite outfit of the month – tutu and boots.

Soon – there will be four of us in the photos. :) For now, Sandy is loving her time in the spotlight and I’m savoring these moments when it’s just me and her.
