Moving and Catching Up
I chatted with a friend through Facebook today. I was so happy that they are finally moving to a bigger place in New Jersey. They need the space very much after having a baby plus they both agreed that raising a kid in a one-bedroom flat isn’t ideal anymore. I asked whether she hired one of those movers but she said they did it themselves and with a help of some friends. Since most of their furniture are for childless couples anyway, they had to sell and start anew. Whatever’s left was transferred back and forth using their 2nd hand SUV. When she mentioned this, I can’t believe how much she hasn’t changed. She’s always been careful with money which is probably why they finally got a nice property of their own.
Personally though, I’d hire a mover because how much would it really take? I’ve tried doing it my friend’s way before and believe me, it wasn’t fun. She said it could get a little expensive so I googled Movers NYC and was not surprised to see plenty of listings that could keep me busy all day. I also came across a site – CityMove.com that lets you post a moving job for free and then receive several bids from competing movers. Then for each bid, you can read reviews and feedbacks, compare the costs and even change details any time. Read more
Beautiful World
You’ve always been interested in making people look beautiful. Your hands itch to pluck anyone’s eyebrows whenever they are in danger of sprouting in the wrong place. Just a quick glance on someone else’s bad skin or hair and you’re already listing the procedures you want to suggest to improve it. All of these are signs that you are destined to have a career in beauty. There’s a cosmetology school in Illinois called Regency Beauty Institute that helps dreamers such as yours. One of their approach is to provide training to students by letting them give discounted salon services to the public under expert supervision. What better way to experience the real thing than hands-on?
Aside from this, as soon as you graduate, Regency helps you acquire your first job with their network of campuses and placement relationships which includes salons, cruise ships and runways. If you think you have the talent, Regency is the first place to start. After all, their graduates are recognized and sought after all throughout the United States.
Ms. Sherwina
Sandy is looking more like her Papa everyday. Just look at the photos to see what I mean. However, on some days, and this could be just a result of my wishful thinking, people say that she’s starting to look like me.
It doesn’t matter who she looks like. Having her in our life is already a huge gift. In fact, I’d rather that her baby sister turns out to look exactly just like her. That way, I’ll have three Sherwins in my life. Of course, it will be a bonus if one of them grows up to be just like me – personality-wise.
More Cash Options
Writing about extra cash reminded me of that time (about 9 years ago) when The Husband and I needed to move to our first apartment and didn’t have available cash to pay for the down. Nice places, just like anywhere go so fast that we had no choice but withdraw some cash from our high interest savings. If only we knew back then about fast cash. What I like about fast cash payday loans is that you can apply today and get the cash as fast as the next day. I guess they don’t call it fast cash for nothing.
Cash in Hand
On most households, having the option of easy cash advance is very important. This is very useful if paycheck is still a couple of days away and you need to pay for something urgent. It could be an emergency trip to the hospital, a credit card bill that you don’t want to pay the interest for, a car repair or even purchasing a good deal that just can’t wait. Regardless, cash advance is designed for solving immediate short cash flow problems. Read more
My Little Entertainer
Sandy: Mommy you know what your talent is?
ME: What?
Sandy: (sings to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle) Working working, working hard. Working hard all day all night. For the baby you work hard. Working working hard.
Shucks. Is that my talent really? Working hard? How boring!

I always tell Sandy that she’s still a baby so it doesn’t matter if she wears a sando /tank top or just her undies inside the room. She refuses to do it maybe because I always have her close the bathroom door whenever I need to take a bath. Now that I’m pregnant, I always ask her to close the door to our room whenever I need to put all kinds of cream on my tummy.
ME: Sandy, can you please close our door?
Sandy: Why?
ME: I need to put lotion on my tummy
Sandy: So? it’s okay mommy, no one will see you. Just me.
ME: No, someone might come in.
Sandy: It’s okay mommy. They’ll just say “Congratulations, you have a baby!”
———————————–
Sandy: Mommy you know what I need for school?
ME: Nope, what?
Sandy: books, clothes, shoes, lunch box, pens and papers
Sandy: You know what Papa needs?
ME: What?
Sandy: You mommy! Papa needs you!
Investing on Gold Coins
I’m so tempted to buy gold coins after reading the benefits from the US Gold Bureaue site. Almost all our investments are in paper, stocks so I want to diversify some more. Gold, for centuries, have been proven to be the best way to protect your money from inflation. It’s also the most effective so far in increasing one’s wealth.
A few more days of researching and I might contact their sales agent to provide a quote. Their minimum order is $50 per transaction and can be any combination of items. Their FAQ mentioned that one should invest 10-20 percent of your assets in precious metals but it’s still up to you. What’s important is to diversify. When purchasing, consider a mixture of gold, silver and platinum to help you reduce your risk.
Our Trip to Balay Indang
We were so lucky we found a vacant room at Balay Indang in Cavite (20 minutes from Tagaytay) for Holy Thursday. I didn’t want to spend the Holy Week at home because of the weather plus I badly need a break from everything. I found Balay Indang from Anton’s blog, called them up and to my surprise, they still have one room left! We paid per head (Sandy was free) for 5 meals – breakfast, lunch, dinner, 2 snacks. They have a pool, billiards table, karaoke and plenty of day beds, hammocks and meditation areas.
I think they were trying to replicate Sonya’s bed and breakfast with their gardens, wedding amenities, etc. Although the services are almost the same, Balay Indang is bigger and have more rooms, around 3-4 rooms per house. One thing they sure have in common are the bugs because of the plants, flowers surrounding the place.
Check out our food here and some of our photos below.
Before we eat lunch, we decided to walk around the place and have some photos taken on the day beds and hammocks.
Swimming after lunch. They were fully booked so I asked Sandy if she wanted to swim, knowing we might not have a chance to have the pool to ourselves later.
The resting area near the pool. Love this nook.
Took a nap after swimming. It was a very relaxing afternoon for me and I was so thankful we managed to snag a room even if it’s the peak season and we booked late.
When Sandy and I woke up, we explored some more. Found a billiards table and saw how huge the place really was.
More resting areas.
This looked like a tree house to me.
Drawing in one of the tables in the huge garden. The pool was filled this time so I was right to take an early swim before it gets too crowded.
Sandy loved the place! She kept saying how nice Tagaytay was and how fun that there were so many places to explore. As you already know, she’s our little critic when it comes to hotel accommodations. And although Balay Indang is far from a hotel, I have no doubt she’d love to go back with her baby sister next time.
