She’s Here!

Baby Meg2a

I sincerely thought that the second baby will not be a big deal as the first one because you’ve done it all. But boy was I wrong yet so happy to learn that the feeling is very much the same. I was as scared, as excited and as miserable when I couldn’t take her home with me. It’s like being in love again. She’s all I can think about. When I close my eyes, I smell her, hear her crying, feel my arms supporting her already too strong limbs. It was the exact feeling that I had when Sandy came to our lives.

Baby Meg31

In my head I’ve already planned all the things that I want to give her, which is everything that we can. I know I would die for her just like I would for my Sandy and Sherwin.

I gave birth last June 23 at 12:43PM to Sophia Margarita (Meg). She weighed 7.8 lbs and moved a lot up to the last minute. The labor felt like forever although I know it was only 4-5 hours before the pushing (a total of 5 push btw) began. It was much harder this time around but so worth it. I was scared because The husband wasn’t with me but knew that I had to be strong and do the best that I can. With Sandy, I just let the nurses and residents to do the pushing for me but this time, I had to work double time. It was so hard I cried as soon as I saw The Husband.

We were supposed to go home the next day but at the last minute, we learned that we had to stay for 5 more days. Our pedia saw that Meg has jaundice, again, just like her Ate so she’ll have to undergo Phototherapy.

Her Ate Sandy on the other hand was getting frustrated because we can’t go home yet. She’s so excited to finally touch her sister after months of waiting. Yet now all she can do was look at her at the nursery. Since she’s having Phototherapy, rooming-in is not possible. We extended our room stay so we can go up to the nursery every two hours and feed her. Luckily, my breastmilk came early so she was easily satisfied. It was painful whenever I enter the nursery and all I can hear were her cries because she has been looking for me. I miss her a lot and just want to grab a cot and sleep there in the breastfeeding room if they’ll let me.

We’re happy to be back home now. She’s on the graveyard shift which drives us crazy but the sleepless nights are nothing compared to the misery of not being able to hold her when we want to.

Health Issues

One of my friends mentioned that as soon as she gave birth, she also had skin breakouts. Which is why she’s adamant in finding the best acne treatment so by the time she goes back to work, her skin is back to looking healthy. I hope that’s not the case with me. The worst thing that happened to me vanity-wise is hair loss. They just fall on their own after every bath. But that’s nothing compared to a visit to the ER because I can’t move my back anymore from breastfeeding too much. Or not being able to eat normal food because Sandy has allergies. So what I’m saying is I think I’ll be okay with the weight gain, skin problem and what-not as long as it doesn’t affect my parenting and most important of all, our baby’s health.

Quick Update

1. Nope. No baby #2 yet. Still huge and aching all over. I could use some hgh supplement when I give birth just to get my old strength back.

2. It’s also my 26th birthday but no celebration. Why? See number 3.

3. Sandy’s sick! Boo. :( Maybe that’s why baby Meg doesn’t want to come out just yet. She knows her ate needs me. As much as we want to see and finally hold her, I’m afraid we can’t take care of two kids at the same time especially if I’m still recuperating in the hospital.

So Many Questions

I’ve been having a hard time answering Sandy’s questions lately. Good thing her father is around so I can always tell her to “ask your papa”. Just some of the questions that’s troubling her mind. Some are easy but the follow up questions are mostly hard to explain/answer.

June 2010

Mommy, what is a soul?

Mommy, will you be a lola when I become a mommy? How old will you be if I become a lola?

Will you die?

Where do dead people go? (If you say heaven, she’ll say …) How about those who died when someone shot them>

How did you make me? How did the baby go in your tummy?

Where did you live before this house? Where did you like living the best?

How come there are two boys kissing? (something she saw on cable)

Will you love the baby more than me when she comes out?

How does God look like?

There are more and as each day passes by, her questions are getting harder to answer. Her Papa prefers to answer her directly which can be too much for her sometimes so I always remind him not to confuse her.

Thanks

There’s a sale on Davidoff cigars online. I wonder if I should buy a few for my client who’s about to leave for the US this month? It will serve as thank you gift for all the projects he’s given me and for buying my iPhone for me. This client of mine has been with me for seven years and he’s one of the many clients who made me think that I can actually make a living through freelancing. Too bad I wasn’t able to meet with him because I just gave birth. He was kind enough to meet with my husband though so he can give him the iPhone that I purchased online. He was even asking when I will have my daughter’s baptism because he wanted to be a part of it. We don’t have plans yet but he’s probably gone back to the US by the time we start with the preparations.

Back Into Shape

May I just say how excited I am to get back into shape? With Sandy, I lost all my pregnancy weight in a few months. But that was because I wasn’t eating anything at all due to her allergies. This time, I vow to breast feed as soon as I can so Meg won’t have to take any formula. Aside from vitamins for women, healthy diet plan, I really need to find a way (or time) to exercise. Time is crucial because with a baby who breast feeds every hour or so and me trying to squeeze in work, I have doubts if I’ll have enough time left at all for myself. But I’m staying positive that I can at least take off the first 30 lbs before she’s 6 months old.

Reviews n Diet Pills

The most famous question online related to dieting – does lipozene work?

According to reviews, plenty of people have regrets buying it. They claim it’s overpriced and semi-effective. Not mentioning the side effects that came with it such as gas, bloating, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

Now will you still go get one? A friend of mine is so excited to buy this after reading great raves from celebrities but as soon as I send her the URL to the actual reviews that I’ve read, I’m sure she’ll change her mind.

Birthday Celeb and Baby Shower with the MBAPs

I had an amazing afternoon yesterday as we celebrated my birthday with the other June celebrants – Jane, Jacqui and Jody at Conti’s Greenbelt. They also gave me and Abie (who was absent) a baby shower. It was fun seeing the ladies again. They all look so fab and hot there’s no doubt one of them will get pregnant alongside Apple before the year ends!

The food was good although the Contis’ staff were a little strict when it comes to the schedule of their function rooms. We had cake overload but no, I didn’t take a bite. Not even one! That’s  how good I am in following my OB’s orders. Also, my weight gain is so huge I’d go on a diet myself! This also explains my expanding nose plus the fact that my OB said we’re going to meet the baby any day now.

Anyway, let me share a few photos from yesterday. I will post all of them on Flickr and Facebook.

To the Veterinarian’s Office!

No matter what kind of pets you have, they’re going to get sick at some point in their lives, just like humans. Pets can overcome some illnesses on their own, but others need the help of a trained medical professional. Vets study for years to become specialized in animal care; when your pets get sick, take them to the vet’s office.

A veterinarian is skilled in diagnosing animal illness, as well as giving vaccinations, taking x-rays, offering preventative steps to avoid future illness, and performing minor to intensive surgery. Since animals can’t talk, a skilled vet will know how to gather information to make a diagnosis based on an examination of the pet. A vet will also get information from the owner. From this information, the doctor can take the steps needed to treat the pet and get it on the road to full health. This may include the prescription of pet meds, a certain regime the owner needs to follow with the pet, or maybe even some degree of surgery. Vets will also have advice on how to prevent the illness from recurring.

Fan of Fans

We need a new electric fan as soon as possible for our two rooms. One of our stand fans broke down today and with the baby about to arrive soon, we need to have an alternative for when we need to turn off the aircon. I’m leaning towards ceiling fans just because we can save tons of space in our room.

Not sure how much cooler it is though so we’ll just have to compare it at the store. I’m really hoping that having a ceiling fan will be better in terms of quality and price. We really need the space as I’m already thinking of putting storage boxes / organizers in place of our old fan.
