You’ve Been Weighed

I’m so happy to note that my weight gain has slowed down. I’m still gaining a pound a week but it’s not as close to my feared 50lbs total weight gain. Swearing off sweats helped a lot, no matter how frustrating and sad (oh you have no idea) it can be. Even Sandy tells me not to eat sweets because she’s afraid the doctor might cut my tummy just like what she saw on TV. She’s really worried that something will happen to me once I enter the labor room. There’s this one time when I asked for a sip of her strawberry shake and she immediately asked in a bothered voice “are you allowed mommy???”. Well, that’s my fitness coach right there. :)

Anyway, it’s all about the waiting game now. Wish me luck!

Fab Scrubs

image Have you seen the medical scrubs and uniforms from Scrubs and Beyond lately? They are just adorable! The Koi Tori Hampton print is just fabulous I’d want to get one for my nurse friend as a gift. She always complains about the lack of choices in their nursing uniforms so she probably hasn’t been to Scrubs and Beyond. Because if she has seen some of the latest styles – summer and hawaiian, she’d be so thrilled on how trendy they are. The prints and colors are bold without being gaudy that you can even wear it outside the office.

I personally would want some of the cargo scrub pants that they are selling because I’ve seen how comfortable they are. It’s perfect for those who are always on the go, whether you are working in a health-related industry or not. Some brands that they carry are Baby Phat, Cherokee, Dansko, Dickies, Disney and Koi – which is my current fave. And if you think your nurses shoes are just too boring, then you definitely need to visit the shoe section of the Scrubs and Beyond. They have stuff from Skechers, Dansko, Timberland and other brands that are guaranteed to give you comfort even when you’re on you’re feet for more than 20 hours.

What to Consider When Buying an Above Ground Pool

When you own your own pool, there is quite a bit of maintenance involved with keeping the water healthy and safe for your family. Before you decide to purchase an above ground pool, one thing you’ll want to consider about owning a pool is whether you’re willing to do what it takes to maintain it. It can be a lot of work, and it’s not for everyone.

Prevention of Algae

To prevent algae from growing in your pool, you’ll need to keep chlorine levels between 1.0 ppm (parts per million) and 3.0 ppm. By testing the water in your pool often, you’ll be sure to have the right chlorine levels so that algae are not able to grow.

Early Art Education

Speaking of AMACO, they have proven again that they are a one-stop shop for all things art with their complete art lesson plans. One example is their ceramic art education.

A quick look shows some history and background, goals and objectives, step by step instruction, glossary of terms and detailed listing of supplies. For the supplies, most of them can be bought at the AMACO web site such as classroom ceramics, assorted brushes, liquid under glazes, tile setters, and many more. Just seeing the photos of the kids having fun with their ceramic projects just makes me so excited. When I was in grade school, we used to have fun making ceramics in our art class. It wasn’t high tech back then and we didn’t have all these great art materials. I’m sure it will now be easier and kids can be more creative because of the help of advanced art kits. Just see the photos below.

Sandy will be over the moon if she can create something like that. Art can really make a difference to kids. If you introduce them early and they liked it, it will be a great start to whatever they want to be when they grow up. Kids are creative by default and nurturing that creativity is one of the best things we can give them.

Pottery Supplies

Guess what I’m shopping for? Nope, it’s neither clothes nor shoes. I’m currently researching for the cheapest art clay kiln I can find and if budget permits, one of those really sturdy-looking brent pottery wheels from AMACO. Anyway, it’s not for me. It’s for my client who’s looking to donate some pottery supplies to his daughter’s school. He just asked me to help him research which is a part of my web admin / virtual assisting tasks. I don’t think he’s concerned about the budget but I want him to get his money’s worth. Which is why I just love the testimonials from the professional potters at AMACO. Who else can give excellent rating than those who use the products for their careers. Aside from that, we’ll get some ceramic colors, self-hardening clays, mold making products and a couple more arts and crafts materials for other departments.

No Sweets Policy

And yet ..

I had a few bites, okay maybe ten spoon fulls of this when we watched SATC2 last Saturday. I just can’t help it! It’s calling my name. I wouldn’t be able to stop if not for The Husband who was so “kind” to remind me that I’m about to finish the cake. I immediately gave it to him so I could stop eating. However, I could still smell and taste it, even now just by looking at the picture.

Anyway, the reason why I’m not allowed to eat sweets anymore is because upon last ultrasound, the bambina weighs 6.5 lbs. I’m on my 37th week now and doing what I can to eat healthy so the labor will be easy for the both of us. Wish us luck!

Here’s a photo of me and the girls btw.

Travel Plans

Saw my friend’s travel photos on Facebook today. I was so envious that if I wasn’t pregnant, I’d convince The husband to have a quick getaway to Baguio. Just love the outdoor fireplaces in her photos which reminded me immediately of Camp John Hay. I know it’s hot now but I would still love to hang out in a nice cabin with a view while my little princess and husband play in the grassy area. I could almost taste the coffee from the Cafe by the Ruins as well! Now is not the time however, as I’m due in a few weeks. Perhaps when our 2nd baby comes out and she’s healthy, we can go for a trip on her 5th or 6th month.
