Having Fun with 18 inch Doll Clothes
My mother-in-law have always dreamed of having a girl. But after realizing that her third child was again, another boy, she knew it wasn’t going to happen. She loved her boys, no doubt about that, but her need to dress up pretty little girls was still there that she just decided to purchase a little 18 inch girl doll. She bought 18 inch doll clothes ranging from pajamas, dresses, jackets and even bathrobes for taking a bath. It was a little tricky finding the right size unlike when you have a life-sized doll, you can just dress it up with actual kids’ clothing. Since then, she bought a total of four dolls in different sizes which she takes care of as if it’s her own child. Would you believe she even brought her favorite doll to her friendly salon so they can fix its hairstyle? I’m sure that if given the chance, she would have a seamstress create a dress for her dolls that will match her outfit.
Fast forward, my mother-in-law has now three granddaughters and couldn’t ask for more. And as for her dolls, my daughter and her cousins love them to bits. In fact, they are buying outfits almost every two months now. They even like it better than their Barbie dolls because it seems real. My mother-in-law indulges them, of course, and helps in finding the right shoes that will go perfectly with the current outfit. The dolls have cheerleading outfits, cutesy swim wears, summer dresses, Hawaiian costumes, doctor coats and a collection of bags and accessories that will rival mine. It’s amazing how they never run out of ideas which I’m glad because that’s where creativity starts. Thanks to the dolls’ long hair, you can change the way they look without resorting to cutting their hair or worse, shaving their heads, which was popular back when I was a kid myself. I really I love watching the kids play-pretend. I prefer that they play with dolls than sit and play with video games the whole day.
