New Fitness Blog
I stumbled upon this blog called glucomannan today. Normally, I would quickly jump to another page after seeing the first post. But I was glad I stayed for I learned some really interesting info. For one, don’t cross your legs if you want to make them skinny. It says when you cross your legs, the blood circulation slows down, giving you edema. If you’re sitting for a long time, it’s better to put your knees together to reduce the tiredness on your legs. Another is why people get big arms. It’s one of my body parts that I’m not crazy about so reading that bad posture can make them even bigger made me vow to remember to stand straight no matter how tired I am. There are more but it seems the blogger is just getting started in posting articles. I just added it to my blog feeds so I’ll be updated for his next post. I know I can find all of this information via Google but my time is too valuable that I prefer reading stuff through my RSS feeds.
The Royal Treatment – Sandy’s 5th Birthday
For Sandy’s actual birthday, we decided to go to Rockwell after Meg’s check up. The girls look nice in their matching shirts. Too bad Meg’s was too tight so that will be the last time she’ll use it.
Before the makeover.

She was over the moon, I tell you. After all, it’s not everyday that she can wear nail polish and have make up on (blush and lipstick). As for her hair (she chose yellow and purple), she almost cried when I told her we need to wash it before she goes to bed that night.
Baby Meg
Our very late lunch with Ninong Zer. Thanks for the baptism and birthday photos Z!
It was a simple yet very happy day for the Ate. She kept asking when we can do it again.
Sugar High
After the party, I did nothing but eat all the leftover cake for breakfast and afternoon snack. We paid for it so might as well enjoy! However, unlike my friends who can binge one day and take weight loss drinks the next, I can’t let any foreign ingredient enter my body because I’m breastfeeding. Luckily for me though, because of breastfeeding, I can eat what I want and still lose weight every week. Amazing huh! In fact, I’m now down to 123lbs as of last weigh-in. So yeah, give me all those cupcakes! God knows I need all the sugar I can get after being awake for two and a half months.
Sandy’s 5th Birthday Party and Meg’s Baptism
Here are the photos from the party held at TGIF, Glorietta. I was so happy that all of those who confirmed came! As I mentioned on my earlier post, we also got five huge bags of gifts from friends and relatives. Ate Sandy was in heaven and I know Meg was happy too even if she just slept most of the time. Her bath from her baptism must have made her sleepy.

The kids were so happy and high (must be from the ice cream) that I can’t help but envy their energy! The parents need hgh supplements not just to feel younger but also to keep up with the kids’ never ending strength and enthusiasm. I remember ten years ago how I could stay up to the wee hours of the morning drinking and dancing. And I still need to go to work in a few hours after that! Anyway, I digress. I wasn’t going to hire a magician but at the last minute, I decided to get one. And I’m glad I did. I can’t believe I forgot how Sandy loves magic tricks. When we went home, all she did was copy the tricks that she saw and “performed” in front of Meg.
It was adorable!

Prizes and cake
Again, thanks Jojo and Alpha for these photos.
Most of these are with my online friends. Hopefully, I can get the batch from our friend Zer so I can see other faces as well. Too bad his computer had to be repaired at the last minute, which means we’ll have to wait.
Meg’s Baptism
As promised, here are some photos from Meg’s baptism.
She was such a happy baby that she never cried during the seminar and ceremony. The only time she got cranky was right after the priest gave her a “bath”.

Pretty Ate Sandy
Lastly, two of my favorite photos
The first one is of The Husband looking like he just won something (which he did
) and the other one is of Sandy trying to put her sister’s cap while Meg looks at her.
I am so blessed to have them.
Money and Health
Just settled our loan from my insurance last week so I don’t have to think about “what could happen if I didn’t pay in time and something happens to me scenario”. Now that we have a new baby, I’m thinking if I should upgrade or get another package. I’d like to take advantage of cheap insurance premiums while I’m young and still only have one kid that goes to school. Maybe next year when we’ve crossed out at least 70% of our scheduled expenses, I can start looking for insurance plans again. My mother-in-law advised against getting an educational plan so maybe we’ll get a pension instead for our little Meg.
Compression Garments
A host was talking about buying compression stockings online this morning. When I looked at the stockings, I didn’t see anything different but he sure sounded like he was talking about a breakthrough product. A quick search on compression garments led me to a website called lymphedema products. But still, there wasn’t enough information that explains what these products do. Only when I googled lymphedema did I understand what it was all about.
Lymphedema occurs when the lymph system is damaged or blocked. Fluid builds up in soft body tissues and causes swelling. It is a common problem that may be caused by cancer and cancer treatment. Lymphedema usually affects an arm or leg, but it can also affect other parts of the body. Lymphedema can cause long-term physical, psychological, and social problems for patients.
I guess the website owner was trying to prettify things because there’s no way the photos on their website resemble the ones that I saw from Google images.
A Must for Car Owners
I keep forgetting about getting cheap car insurance quotes for my cousin. Since she got her car four months ago, she’s had two minor accidents, both of them according to her were not her fault. When I asked what the insurance company said, I found out she didn’t have any. I haven’t heard of any car owners that didn’t have insurance so I ordered her to get one immediately. I volunteered to find some affordable quotes so she can choose which one would be perfect for her. Even if her salary couldn’t cover it, I’m sure her dad will shoulder it if she’ll pout prettily.
Party with the Girls!
We just finished the party of my two babies yesterday. It was Sandy’s 5th birthday party and also a celebration for Meg’s baptism.
No photos yet but here’s a quick story: Sandy was a little bit cranky at first but she perked up upon hearing that we will eat first before the games and entertainment. Turned out she was really hungry – she had two plates of the kiddie meal from TGIF! After that, I could see that she was enjoying herself. Meg, on the other hand, was happy to just breastfeed and sleep. A very low-maintenance baby, that’s what she is. Even at the church, she didn’t cry when the priest submerged half of her body into the water. Thank God for that! I was able to enjoy the party with relatives and friends without feeling too harassed from taking care of the girls.
We are so thankful to our guests who took time to celebrate with us. The girls received five huge bags of gifts from oh-so-pretty clothes, shoes, accessories, bags, books, drawing stuff, and all kinds of toys! I won’t be shopping anytime soon, that’s for sure!
Watch out for the photos, will be posting them as soon as I got them from my two photographer friends, Z and Jojo.
Casual Dresses
With my new weight loss (insert audience clapping and cheering here), I need to do some serious shopping. Some of my casual dresses fit me now but I’m still about 10 pounds heavier than my pre-pregnancy weight. My skinny jeans are still that – skinny and there’s no way they can fit me until perhaps, Meg’s first birthday.
So on my shopping list, I see two pairs of jeggings (jeans / leggings), about five buttoned blouses for easier breastfeeding, two comfortable walking shorts and about a dozen polo shirts that should last two years. That’s how long I’m planning to breastfeed the little one so I need tons of easy access tops. With this list, I seriously need to save. A lot. I’m also waiting for Black Friday Deals. Who knows? If I’m lucky, I may be able to buy all of the items on my list at half the price.
