Loans
A friend was asking to loan some cash but since we’re also strapped these days, I told her to try applying for a payday advance loan. This type of loan has helped a lot of people who are in between paydays. Let’s face it. No matter how much we save for the rainy days, there are unexpected expenses like car troubles, appliances that need to be replaced, house repairs or even hospitalizations that can very quickly eat our savings. Anyway, the interest isn’t that high if you can pay in full. In fact, I recommend that even on credit card bills just so your debt will be manageable.
Sandy’s Moving Up Day – Kinder – 2011
We are proud parents, once again. Sandy finished Kinder and got the following awards – Most observant, Best in English and Most Outstanding in class (Kinder). She gave a speech, which would normally make me so nervous but I just know she’ll do a great job and she did. She loves performing and public speaking now (probably got it from me ROFL) so when she went up on stage, all I felt was excitement for her. I was a little sad too that she’s growing too fast, too soon. (You’ll notice that she’s on pigtails. I guess that’s my small way of making her look like a baby.)
Anyway, here are the photos from their Moving Up Day.
During her speech.
She danced Blue Suede Shoes, complete with twists and all. It was obvious that she was doing her best, sometimes even with her eyes closed. Both grandmothers were shouting with glee including yours truly. See the little me below.
Congratulations, Sandy. Again, we are so proud of you!
The Yo-Yo
I’ve been reading sensa reviews the whole morning since I wanted to verify how healthy it is. A friend of mine wants to test diet supplements again but after her recent hospitalization (2 months ago), I want to make sure she’s not taking anything she’s not supposed to. I hope she can finally meet her weight goal. It doesn’t have to be unbelievably skinny which is what she was aiming for but something healthy at least that she will start to feel great about herself. Ever since she started dieting 5 months ago, she managed to lose 10-20lbs only to gain it back again in a few weeks. I know how unhealthy it is so I do my best to force her to exercise, eat healthy and research first before trying anything.
Cape Town vs Johannesburg
I was planning on looking for hot tub spa cover online but I got sidetracked by Anthology’s animal print ballet flats. I want to buy them both but since I can only afford one, I need to choose. Which is the hardest part! I have been looking for a nice pair of zebra flats but the leopard print invaded my dream last night. And you know what they say when you dream about something. Do something about it or it will turn into nightmare. Okay, I’ll admit. It was me who said it. But honestly, if you can’t stop thinking about it and you have the budget, plus your kids are not hungry, you have a home and savings, why not indulge in a little shopping spree. Trust me, you (we) deserve it.

Wall Mounts
My husband found a new addiction – flat tv mounts. Ever since he started fixing the smaller room for our daughter, he became obsessed in maximizing spaces for all the areas in our house. One of the million things that he wants to do is to buy several TV mounts so we can have all our TV sets mounted on the wall. I agree with him but only if he can find affordable ones. I don’t think I want to spend more than $150 just to organize our TV sets. Not only that, he wants to mount my 24″ LCD monitor too so I can use my work monitor for watching movies as well.
Too Much Waste
After cleaning our medicine cabinet, I found several expired medicines, a small tube of metrogel, packs of sanitary pads, two cans of infant formula (that Meg never took) and five bottles of hydrite. Amazing how much we can hoard in 10 months. I feel bad about the formula though. I could’ve given it to our nanny who has a sister with a 4-month-old baby. So much wasted stuff! I need to be better in organizing our stocks or else, we’ll just end up throwing money.
Did you miss our Chuba?
Some of her photos before she got sick. Check out her facial expressions.
At 8 months:
She can crawl fast now. Instead of leaving her on the bed with pillows surrounding her, we just leave her on the floor on the playmat. Much safer.
She claps her hands, waves bye and Hi especially to those that she really likes
Babbles and shouts at the top of her lungs when she’s happy
Dances to Angelina Ballerina and Chloe’s Closet
Loves to stand on her own using our sofa bed
Grabs anything near her so she can pull herself up and stand (her favorite position these days)
Eats anything and I mean anything – her papa’s earphone, my legs, cellphone and her Ate’s magnets. We weren’t worried about small things with Sandy but now, we need to be extra careful as this little Chuba will put anything in her mouth.
Design Your Coin
I came across an article about your own personalized challenge coin. When I followed the link, I was surprised on how great the coins look. This seems like a great idea for corporate giveaways or tokens for small organizations and clubs. Just take a look at the samples below. I would love to have one designed for me and my friends.
Perfect Timing
My cousin tried several home acne remedy before a big wedding and surprise, surprise! She is now regretting it. Turned out she’s allergic to one of the ingredients (not sure which one yet) so she now has patches of red all over her chin and forehead plus a few on her neck. I told her plenty of times never to try anything new a few days before anything big but did she listen? No! I know I learned this the hard way when I had my underarms waxed the day before my wedding! They were so red I couldn’t even wave my arms just in case someone sees them (TMI!). Luckily, she’s not the bride. Unfortunately, it’s on her face so no matter what she wears, save for a head cover and jackie-o glasses, everyone will be able to see the redness.
