Decadence

One of the great things about being a mom is that you can make your husband buy you presents as a thank you for raising the kids. It doesn’t end and it will work all the time no matter how old your kids are. Face it. Without our moms, we wouldn’t know what to do! Even now that I have kids of my own, I still buy gifts for mom just to show her how much I care. Whether it’s a simple flower arrangement or a fruit basket, a mom will always appreciate these touching gestures. As for me, I wouldn’t mind receiving a gourmet food basket filled with premium chocolates and cheeses. In fact, I will drop hints to my husband to do exactly that since he hasn’t exactly given me anything for my birthday yet.

High Tech

Funny how Sandy loves to Google just about anything. I always make sure that I watch what she does online especially on Youtube as you never know what she could click. Anyway, I saw that she was Googling Garmin GPS and when I asked her why, she told me she heard about GPS from her classmate’s dad. Such a curious little lady! There are also searches on different continents and this last one which proves how girly girl she is – barbie musketeers. Even on her iTouch, she loves searching for things whether via App Store for new free games or in Safari for images of her favorite cartoon characters. I was worried as well that she may not like to read books anymore now that she found a way to learn things using the Internet. But I see that she still likes reading stories and just uses the computer because it’s fun.

Meg’s First Birthday – Teaser

Hello! I’m so happy to share with you all Meg’s teaser video from her birthday party. We still don’t have the official photos but this will give you a preview. Thanks to zoombox productions for their great work!

So many stuff that I need to blog soon!

Playmat Options

I received an email about mitsubishi galant custom floor mats and I suddenly remembered that I need to buy playmats for the kids. They just love lying down on the floor these days whether reading (Sandy), playing (Both) or wrestling (Meg). We have these huge square rubber mats that you can put together but Meg kept peeling them off so most of them are broken now.

I saw a nice pororo playmat from SM recently but find it too expensive so I didn’t buy it. But now that Meg received some cash gifts, I think it will be fair to get one for her. What do you think? Isn’t it just too cute for words?

The one that I found was much bigger. I was concerned about how slippery it will be so I’ll have to make sure to test it again when we visit theĀ  mall next weekend.

Tired but Happy

Whew! We just finished celebrating Meg’s first birthday party. I’m so happy on how it turned out, thanks to our dear suppliers who made sure everything went perfectly. I do want to blog about it but as usual, my schedule is limited. I still got loads of stuff to do before the week ends – get new life insurance rates, clean up the small room so we can stock the gifts from Meg’s party, quick shopping for other school stuff that Sandy needs and tons of work related to-dos that will never end. I do know that the teaser video will be delivered in a few days so please watch out for that!

Someone is Back to School

Pardon all the instagram photos. I am just too lazy to use our DSLR or my point and shoot. At least with iPhone, you can easily upload or style it using apps like Instagram or Hipstamatic. And now, here I am blogging about them.

See Ate Sandy on her first day as a Rosena. Time flies so fast, really. And no, I will not blog about how excited yet sad I am that she’s no longer my baby. I may cry and I will never be able to finish this post.

Gosh. I still can’t believe five years have passed already.

Job Hunt

Geneticist Jobs are the first listings that appeared when I browsed for popular jobs this morning. Lucky for my cousin who’s currently looking for a new company, she’ll have plenty to choose from. As for my industry, competition is still fierce. There are so many “kids” who can draw and design that it’s sometimes a wonder I still manage to get projects knowing how affordable these kids are. I should start my own design studio and hire these kids instead! Only then will I get more rest even if I will earn less.

Big and Fab

Who says you can’t look fab if you’re a plus-size? Check out these plus size dresses and tell me if they don’t look as good and perhaps even better than your average anorexic/model types.

I just love the green on these dresses that I might have to ask my mom to find a similar fabric for me. Of course, I don’t have their beautiful curves but with the right style and layers, I think I can pull it off. I can’t wait to show these to my friend who’s getting married this year.

Meg’s Wishlist

Hello friends. The Husband will frown for sure on this blog post but most of my friends have been asking me what Meg would like to receive on her birthday. To make it easy for you guys to shop for gifts, here’s her (or should I say my) wishlist.

Please stay away from stuffed toys (unless it’s Pororo the little penguin!), play-doh (we have tons already), beads (too young), small stuff that she might eat.

Any items that has: Pororo, Mickey Mouse

Educational toys or musical toys.

Play pretend toys.

Activity table or anything that she can ride on

Board books. Dr. Seuss, Richard Scarry books. Any books for 0-2 year-olds like:

Beddy-Bye Baby

Pat the Bunny

Books about sisters, mommy, daddy, sleeping.

Clothes for 18-24months. Going out (shirts, jumpers, shorts, leggings, dresses) Sleepwear, house clothes ( tank top, walking shorts, dress )

Big aprons for art stuff, playing and eating.

If in doubt, gift certificates will be appreciated. In fact, we prefer this so we can buy what she wants instead.

But as I’ve said, gifts are not expected. :) Taking time to celebrate Meg’s first birthday is more than enough for us. See you!

Last Minute

After designing a banner ad for a ski rack, I feel like I need a break. However, I can’t rest now since Meg will be having her first birthday bash tomorrow. I need to finish printing the stubs, fixing the seat plans and other last-minute party preps so we don’t have to worry about them in the morning. There’s also the cake needing to be picked up and the games and music to be burned so I can give it to the party host tomorrow. Anyway, wish us luck! I’m really excited for Meg (who couldn’t care less) and Sandy (who I know will enjoy it more).
