Meg’s Wishlist
Hello friends. The Husband will frown for sure on this blog post but most of my friends have been asking me what Meg would like to receive on her birthday. To make it easy for you guys to shop for gifts, here’s her (or should I say my) wishlist.
Please stay away from stuffed toys (unless it’s Pororo the little penguin!), play-doh (we have tons already), beads (too young), small stuff that she might eat.
Any items that has: Pororo, Mickey Mouse
Educational toys or musical toys.
Play pretend toys.
Activity table or anything that she can ride on

Board books. Dr. Seuss, Richard Scarry books. Any books for 0-2 year-olds like:
Beddy-Bye Baby

Pat the Bunny

Books about sisters, mommy, daddy, sleeping.
Clothes for 18-24months. Going out (shirts, jumpers, shorts, leggings, dresses) Sleepwear, house clothes ( tank top, walking shorts, dress )
Big aprons for art stuff, playing and eating.
If in doubt, gift certificates will be appreciated. In fact, we prefer this so we can buy what she wants instead.
But as I’ve said, gifts are not expected.
Taking time to celebrate Meg’s first birthday is more than enough for us. See you!
Surprise Gift
I’ve been trying unsuccessfully to search for trampolines new york but couldn’t find the one that my online friend wants. We and twelve other friends are going to pool some money to give our friend’s son this special gift. Most kids his age dreams to have a trampoline inside their backyard and he is no exception. Even I would love to have one if only we have a backyard as big as theirs! Anyway, I hope we could fine one just in time for the birthday of our friend’s son. We want the item to be shipped and ready for his backyard party.
A ChubaMeg Update
I haven’t downloaded her 9th and 10th month celebration. But let me just post a few instagram photos with her milestones.
At 10 months:
She’s everywhere. She cruises a lot, crawls so fast from one place to another, stands on her own for 1-3 seconds
She knows how to get off the bed properly. Just say “FEET FIRST” and she will turn her body so that she’s on her belly with her feet dangling on the edge of the bed as she carefully checks if there’s something near that she can step on
She’s a picky eater, hates all mashed food including gerber bottles. But give her a pasta and she’ll clap and squeal as if saying “magnifico!”. She loves her spaghetti a lot that she can eat it everyday. She also eats fresh fruits like avocado, banana, melon, papaya and drinks a lot of water (finally!)
She can say ADEE (for ate sandy, I think) and dedede when she wants to breastfeed. She babbles a lot, sings, dances so well and loves to watch Pororo, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Dibo, Timmy Time and Spongebob! Even if she’s crying, as soon as she hears the ending song of Spongebob, she will stop, kneel down and dance.
She knows how to do the following: Hello (hand on her ear), Oh No! (both hands on the side of her head with matching UHHHMMMMM), clap your hands, dance (side to side, jumping up and down, do the twist, put your hands in the air, maarena), High five, praise the lord, where’s the light.
And I know I said this already but she just looooooves dancing to Macarena. She puts her arms up and sometimes over her head. When you sing a slow song, she dances slowly too, just twisting her body from left to right with a silly small smile.
I could go on and on but to cut this long post short, Meg is just one adorable baby!
To-Dos: Shopping
So many things to do today but on the bright side, they all have to do with shopping. First, I need to shop online for wrestling tights and head gear for my nephew. He will compete next month and this is my gift to him.
Next, I need to get a quote for a wireless printer so we can finally have a decent working printer here at home. The husband insists on a wireless one ever since he saw our pediatrician’s. He loved the idea of being able to print directly from his iPhone or wherever you are in the house that he can’t wait to compare prices.
And saving the best for last, I am shopping for warm clothes for the girls! They both have grown so fast in the past couple of months that it’s time to get them new set of jackets, sweatshirts and long sleeves in time for the rainy days.
Swimsuit Season
Diet pills that work fast is the number one topic on this parenting forum that I frequently visit. Looks like everyone wants to get back into shape now that summer is here. Seeing all the conversations on how to look good in a swimsuit reminded me that I need to do some shopping for myself. Ever since I lost all my pregnancy weight, I found that my suits don’t fit anymore. They are loose, much to my delight! I hope I can find one that enhances the curves that I don’t have and also hides the marks from childbirth.
SB Shoes, For Moi
Don’t laugh but I want a pair of Nike SB like the one below. Either that or a classic green suede Puma. After weeks of looking for the perfect shade of green, I stumbled upon Nike and fell in love instantly with it. I didn’t really care what kind or brand at first as long as it fits my budget. But after seeing this shade, I just had to have it. Just like how much I obsessed in having a pair of red, glittery ballet flats similar to Dorothy’s (which I never found anyway), I just know I wouldn’t be able to rest until I get one exactly this shade.
Having Two Kids – We’ve only just begun
Everyday, I turn into mom from hell. I guess it’s expected when you have more than one kid. To those who remain peaceful while calmly disciplining their children, either you are high or only get to be with the kids a few hours a day. Okay, so that’s mean. Let me scratch that. I know some parents are very good at controlling their tempers but sad to say, I am not one of them. Imagine not being able to work because Meg wouldn’t sleep because when she was sleepy, Sandy will wake her up or Sandy will be cranky because she’s tired because when she was about to sleep, Meg will disturb her. I am always frustrated and most of the time stressed because I rarely meet my deliverables. To do damage control, when I catch myself frowning at something, I immediately try to smile to avoid wrinkles. Seriously, even Sandy laughs at me when she sees me do this. I badly need dermitage to smoothen my already aging face, thanks to them. And Meg isn’t even one year old. God knows how much worse it could get when she can actually throw a tantrum or fight with her Ate. Still, I’m not complaining that much. I know the good things outweigh the bad ones. Even as I write this, I can’t help but look at my girls and smile how blessed I am that I have them. And yes, even when they are “fighting”.
Doing the Potty at 7 Months
Today, I am so proud to say that Meg did number two on the big toilet. She was on cloth diaper this morning because she was about ready to take a bath. When I felt that she was trying to push, I immediately put the baby toilet cushion on top of our toilet and placed her there. I gave her a small toy so her hands will be occupied just in case she wants to touch the toilet (que horror!). She saw comfortably and finished without any problems. She even had a small book at the end and I would’ve taken a photo (to show her when she’s older) but she started moving around. I know it was just luck but I feel like if I do the same every morning, I know I could train her early. The question now is if I can find the time to do it, what with my already limited work hours.
Still, not so bad for my little Chuba who’s turning 8 months next week.
Goodbye Healthy Skin
I wish I still have my pregnancy glow. (Just the glow, not another baby)
Now I have the skin agents will pay for just so they can feature me as the BEFORE photo on their beauty product commercial. Luckily, it’s not something that will make me research how to get rid of acne fast for hours, knowing there’s no tried and tested way that will fit everyone. Still, I already have two huge black bags under my eyes so the absence of skin breakouts would be greatly appreciated. I am too tired at the end of the day to do something about it (can’t even find the time to brush my hair after a bath) so I’ll just wait until Meg is one before I do one of those twice a day, one-hour beauty regimens.
Happy 7th Month Meg!
Since Meg’s 7th month fell on a Saturday, we had a quick lunch at our favorite not-so-crowded restaurant in Rockwell – Kulinarya. Food was great as usual and now that Meg eats solids, she joined us with her mixed veggies and her first taste of Marie biscuits.
I bought her first toothbrush too, which occupied her for a few minutes so we can eat in peace.
Me and Ate Sandy
After some quick shopping, we went home, slept and had another celebration before dinner. I asked the Husband to buy some cupcakes for a change and then we had Sandy arrange them into a one big cake. After putting 7 candles on top, we sang Happy Birthday to our dear Chubameg.
She had colds at the time (every month, actually) so she was a little cranky. Still, it didn’t stop her from exploring and touching the candles.
Success!
After touching the icing, she didn’t like it anymore. Just look at her face!
Happy 7th Month to our darling Meg!
