Interior Design
A friend of mine was asked by her boss to find someone who can improve his three bedroom unit in New York. He likes to remodel the two bathrooms as well because the other one is for his eight-year-old daughter. Since my friend didn’t know anyone else, I told her to research online using Interior Design New York or Bathroom Remodeling New York City as the keyword. We came across Kaja Gam and immediately like what they have to say. They believe in individualism so what they will do is use their knowledge in interior design to help their clients find a style that they’re comfortable with. We loved the portfolio section especially what they’ve done on their living spaces projects. New York apartments are known for being small yet pricey so you really need an expert to maximize your space. And for huge spaces (like my friend’s boss) that feels too industrial, this Interior Design In New York City can make it look comfortable and compact without looking too cluttered.
I saw a sample of what they’ve done on a work area (see photo here) and was amazed how they were able to fit a computer table beside the door. The bookshelves on top is what I’ve been trying to achieve for the longest time and seeing it again makes me want to do our own DIY project. The Kaja Gam website is a great design resource too with their numerous design articles. You can subscribe to their newsletter too to receive free design ideas that you can implement in your own home.
Halloween Planning
My friend is planning for her son’s 1st birthday party. Since his birthday is on November 3, she was considering on a Halloween theme. She wanted to dress him up as a baby Dracula but I thought it was too simple for a birthday celebrant. I told her to check out Bumblebee.ph for some ideas because this site offers uber cute costumes for babies and toddlers. As the mother of the birthday celebrant, she wants to wear a costume as well. I started to feel like she’s more excited about the fact that she gets to wear anything; either Cat Woman or Queen Amidala with her abs showing. Can’t blame her though. We both love to dress up. However, even if it’s going to be a Halloween party, it’s still a kid’s birthday party and French maid costumes are definitely a no-no.
Last Night
Sandy received another toy last night from her Ninang Tere. It’s a Play Doh barbecue which she immediately opened. She hated the feel of clay at first and even tried tasting it.
It was fun seeing the gang again especially Tere who has been working in Singapore for about a year now. When Sandy saw her Ninang, she said “Hiiiiiii!!!” in such a very excited voice. We were surprised because it usually takes about 30 minutes before she warms up to anyone. She also chatted non-stop with her Tita Preck, Tito Cliff, Tita Lorna and Kuya Nico and showed them her famous Papaya dance.
Some photos.

CryBaby
Remember our first Christmas party two weeks ago? It was fun and tiring as expected. Put five kids in one small room with limited toys and peace will be the last thing that’s on your mind.
There was a moment when Sandy can’t take being cooped in one place anymore that she just wanted to go home. The Husband took Sandy with him to the swimming pool area so he can shoot some photos and distract the little girl at the same time. It was a sweet twenty minutes that I spent chatting away with my girlfriends. When they came back, The Husband said he can’t take photos because Sandy kept on crying and asking for me. Here are the evidence:

When Sandy saw these photos today, she said, “Hahaha-hahaaa, (Yes, that’s how she laughs) Sandy’s crying…. she wants to go to mommy”.
Free Teen Chats
I remember when I was a teenager how I used to chat with my phone pals for six hours straight. Me and my friends just dial phone numbers randomly and when someone answers with a nice voice, we chat him up. Now, with all this technology around us, it’s so much easier to find someone to talk to. Free Teen Chat, for example, is a website that offers an exciting way to meet teens via their free chat lines. Guys and girls can either call for a free chat or leave voice personals so other people can hear what you want to say even when you’re off the phone. This free teen chat is anonymous so you don’t have to give out your phone numbers. The always line is open with tons of exciting new people that you can meet new friends, anytime you want.
Business Loan
I’m helping out my friend look for a Business Loan for her restaurant business next year. She doesn’t need a lot of cash but just enough to get her feet wet. EzUnsecured.com stood out from our list of lending companies because they don’t ask for a collateral and that you can get approved in a matter of 3 days. Plus, they are specialized in helping small businesses so they understand the needs of start-up businesses such as my friend’s. EzUnsecured.com have an extensive network of financial institutions that the probability of getting someone to finance your business is very high. To assure that you will get approved, they help you prepare your Application Package correctly and find which lender to go to. With my friend’s excellent credit history, I believe everything will go as planned if she will stick with EzUnsecured.com.
The Married Bride
I just received word that we’re hosting a bridal shower party for our already married friend. Confusing, right? She already got married in the U.S. when she visited her boyfriend slash future hubby. Apparently, Mr. Husband would not let her go home without tying the knot, even if it’s just the two of them who will know. So they got married in secret, well not really secret because she called her Mom to ask for permission and the wedding preparations are actually in full blast before she flew to the States. So she went home as a married woman yet still preparing for her big day, although not as a blushing bride-to-be LOL. Anyway, since she’s my friend for like 10 years, I agreed to give her a party. Might have to buy her a cheap sexy lingerie instead of the expensive version which they did when I got married LOL.
Do what you love. Money will come after
A friend of mine has been making a living by making and selling fashion jewelry. I used to think of her as lazy (which I don’t fail to tell her because she’s my friend!) and that she’s wasting those five years we spent learning everything it is about computers. Turned out that the IT world was not for her. She has always been the more fashionable one amongst our group with all her chunky earrings and out-of-this-world necklaces. She has been making at least $300 a month with her jewelries, which isn’t bad for someone who just stays at home. It really helps that you love what you do.
Preggies
No, I’m not pregnant. This is for a pregnant friend of mine who almost lost her baby during the first few weeks of her pregnancy. What happened to her was pretty scary - she was admitted at the UST hospital because of severe bleeding and they were all ready to remove the baby. Her husband, based overseas, was crying with her best friend on the phone. I forgot exactly what happened but after hours of praying, the OB was able to save the baby, thank God! She wanted a baby so much even when she was still single and didn’t have anyone in her life yet. Which is why she and her husband decided to make a baby as soon as they got married. It’s probably on top of her wedding preps list.
Anyway, she’s doing fine now. Told her about our plans to go to Bohol Beach Club so she showed me her photos there. She looked adorable in her two-piece! I should’ve thought of that when I was preggo, LOL. All I could think about before were the parties that I need to plan/attend - baby shower, baptism and birthdays. Well, I’m sure she’ll bug us soon to throw her a “surprise” baby shower. Perhaps I could design her birth announcements as a gift. We’ll see. I’m looking forward to see her baby. I know she’s going to be a very good mom.
Sunday Afternoon
Photos from last Sunday’s dinner with friends. Taken by Z and Sherwin. (di kami mahilig sa portraits)
Oh my, this is long.
I am so tired. Like I said on my last post, our weekend was fully booked.
Last Saturday was mom’s birthday so we went to our house in Sampaloc. We bought a lot of Chinese take-outs so she won’t have to cook. It has been a month or so since I’ve visited my parents and I was really very happy to see them. They both look healthy and happy (separately) and excited to see their apos. My brother, who is currently looking for tattoo ideas for reasons that escape me, was there with Gabby, my five-year-old niece so our little girl finally had a real playmate. And boy did they play! We brought some pieces of Sandy’s kitchen and they had a blast cooking breakfast and dinner. Sandy has so much fun, always hugging and kissing her Ate Gabby, chasing her, etc. My brother, after hearing my say “No, Sandy!” for the nth time told me just to let her play. So I did, while trying to stop myself from saying “NO” when Sandy jumped up and down on the mattress on the floor, ran wild (and I mean really wild) from room to room, occasionally slipping and hitting her head. She didn’t take a nap or nurse. She even refused my offer to breastfeed her because she was playing. I felt bad for Sandy a bit because she’s missing out on a lot of fun. She only have adults to play with at home that Sherwin and I have been thinking on how we can expose her to kids more. Btw, my brother is also amazed on Sandy’s speech that he kept on asking how old she is just to make sure
We left Sampaloc at 5:30 PM then went to Makati so we can go home with my mom-in-law. She wasn’t ready yet so we strolled around Greenbelt 1 for a while. Sandy toured the bookstore on her own, checking out books and playing with the toys. There weren’t a lot of people at NBS so I let her wander by herself while watching with one eye of course. Whenever she gets far, I drop what I’m doing and chase her, which is only every 30 seconds. She walks really fast, saying something here and there (”Hi books!”, “want to read this?”) while carrying a big Barney pop up board book on her right armpit. She looks so grown up that I didn’t want to disturb her and let her enjoy her window-shopping.
Ten hours of chasing and carrying sandy left my muscles aching and my eyes heavy. All I want to do is curl myself into a ball and sleep peacefully, on my own. We all know it will never happen.
And that’s for Saturday only.
Sunday was spent buying groceries in the morning then coffee and dinner with old co-workers/friends in the afternoon. I’ll tell more when I’m done transferring the photos. It was really fun talking to adults again. We went home around 11:30PM hoping that Sandy is asleep but she wasn’t, of course. I heard Sandy’s voice instantly when I opened the door. She was so happy to see us that she kept on laughing and jumping with her eyes half-closed, lol. Poor baby!
Girls Night Out! Finally!
Just sharing some photos from my recent night out with the girls! I rarely go out because I always feel guilty leaving the little girl alone. However, I haven’t seen my girlfriends for almost a year and a half so I planned the whole post-birthday celebration. We had so much fun. I’ve forgotten how good it feels to talk about men, relationships, clothes and silly gossips.

The birthday girls (that’s moi on the left and tetz)
I also made two quick layouts.

Give her a break
I know this woman who seem to have all the bad luck the world has to offer. Some of them were because of her bad decisions but still, I haven’t seen anyone who has suffered so much. Let’s call her Allie. Allie got pregnant with a guy who left her because he can’t handle the responsibility. As if that wasn’t enough to make a pregnant lady suffer, on her 2nd trimester, she acquired dengue fever and was hospitalized for about 2 weeks. When she came back to work, her team leader told her that having a 2-week-leave on your record is a no-no and that she should just resign and re-apply again. What? How crazy is that? But she did. She resigned and re-applied when she delivered her baby. She got the job back with a “clean record” but without the benefits. What’s important though is she now have a steady income to support her child. We met online when I was looking for customer support agents who are interested to work from home. I admire her strength and positive attitude about everything so I hired her.
Let’s just say that by the first few weeks of working with us, I can see that Allie’s starting to get her groove back The pay is better and she can take care of her baby while working at night when the baby’s asleep. She’s also able to save some money for her baby’s baptism and earning on the side doing tutoring. Then, evil mom enters the picture. We all know how hard it is to take care of a baby and work at the same time. Allie’s mom knows this and volunteered to help take care of her baby while she’s working. It was a good setup, having your mom by your side, looking after the baby so you can work peacefully. After a couple of weeks, I noticed that she seems getting weaker and sadder and the positive attitude that I loved on her first interview was gone. I asked and since she doesn’t have anyone to talk to, she told me how her mom is hitting her when she fails to give her money. Her brothers and sisters are living with her as well. So she’s working to feed a baby, a mother who hits her any chance she gets and two grown people who doesn’t have a job. Stil, I admire her for her love of her family. One day, I received a call from her that she doesn’t have a PC anymore. She was using her mom’s PC because hers broke down and now her mom is asking for a P14,000 payment. Since she doesn’t have that money, her mom took the PC and won’t let her touch it. The PC is sitting, unused in their house. How crazy is that? To cut the story short, she was able to pay her mom but not without hurting herself physically in the process.
She’s not with us anymore, btw. That’s one of the bad lucks she had lately. Her technical skills are not enough for my boss to keep her. They are giving her two months worth of her salary plus her 13th month so she can get by. Yesterday, I received a call from her and she was crying. Apparently, her mom hit her with a big bottle of water in the head because she doesn’t have any more money to give her. I mean, Allie just lost her job so she’s obviously saving what’s left for the remaining weeks until she gets the termination pay. Her evil mother doesn’t care though. She wouldn’t even leave the house and demands that Allie pay her for taking care of her own grandchild. Is she for real?
I’m afraid there’s no ending to this story. I told her to go to the police but it’s a family matter that only she can resolve. I think one bright star in her cloudy sky is that her daughter is well and the father now has a job and wants to take them with him. He could be irresponsible or immature but in my opinion, she and her baby are better off with anyone other than her evil mother.
Get in touch with your friends
Half of my girlfriends have already migrated abroad and I always use calling cards to get in touch with them. I’ve been seeing too many calling cards lately with different features and plans that it’s hard to know if I’m getting the lowest rate. On top of my list of prepaid calling card provider is Pingo. Their main goal is to provide the best calling card experience and the most competitive rates worldwide. Their Singapore calling card rates can go as low as 1.5 cents which gives me tons of time to catch up with my friend Teresa. I keep telling her to get some International prepaid filipino calling cards as well, given that she calls home just about every 10 minutes to check up on her kid. Pingo offers these low rates through the help of their very own RateWatcherâ„¢. They monitor changes in long distance rates worldwide so they can reduce their cost and help you save money when you make your long distance calls. In fact, just by signing up for Pingo, you will get up to four hours of free International calls! So what are you waiting for? Sign up now and chat away!

I am so terrified of ghosts. In fact, I don’t watch horror movies because I dream about them all the time. I shake literally with fear whenever my mind gets creative.
I never wanted to have a kid but now it’s all I can talk about.
I love to read and talk about anything that’s magical or impossible; time travel, telekinesis, parallel dimensions.
I get sick if I’m not working.
I watch crappy B movies to pass the time and I enjoy it lol.
I eat three plates of rice every meal.
When I have money and need to buy shoes or clothes, I want to visit at least three shopping malls just to make sure that I am buying the right kind.
