Wednesday Happy Thoughts
No, I haven’t lost any belly fat yet but I ate two slices of mango cake and I didn’t gain a pound. That’s a lot considering I now gain and lose weight everyday depending on what I eat. If you ask me what my weight now is, I wouldn’t know if it’s real or just a result of my dieting/bingeing.
Great news on my inbox today. Can’t divulge yet. But let’s just say it’s enough to make me forget about sleepless nights for a few days.
My two girls playing and “sleeping” at the same time. They just love to hang out on our big bed, playing with Justin Bieber’s game on the Husband’s iTouch (Sandy) or just wrestling (Meg).
Beach travel in 6 months! I know it’s too far for me to celebrate but still, I’m dying to feel the sun on my skin and hear the sound of the waves crashing that I don’t care if I have to wait for months. Besides, we want Meg to be one year old or so before we travel / ride a plane.
Frenemy
Funny how my email inbox is filled with the best fat burner emails when I am very happy about my current weight right now. I think I’ll forward it to my “friend” who loved telling me how huge and ugly (you read that right!) I looked when I was 8 months pregnant with Meg. Her baby is now one year old and she still looks as if she’s having another baby soon. Not that I’m being mean, but you could say she deserves it after listing all our old acquaintances who gained weight since we graduated from College. When people talk about each other’s success, she lists downfalls so she’ll feel good about herself.
2011 First Quarter Expenses
Wow! The compaq laptops at thesource.ca are really cheap. Perfect for my brother-in-law who’s looking to buy a netbook for his first job. I need a new machine too but I’m looking at the new Macbook Pro which will be released this April. I hope the price is as affordable as it’s 2010 counterpart. If not, I guess I’ll have to settle with the late 2010 model.
So many stuff to purchase not mentioning Sandy going to a big school and Meg’s first birthday bash this June. Good luck to our savings!
Fitness Pants
Was searching for girls shorts when I came across a site selling Yoga clothes. Not that I do yoga (que horror! all those stretching!) but I do like how comfortable the pants look. I haven’t totally shed off my post-pregnancy pounds around the hip so my old walking shorts are a bit tight. Who knows? Maybe I could convince myself to hit the treadmill again or do some dance routines while entertaining Meg and Sandy.
On second thought, not in this lifetime unless I gain more than 10 lbs again!
Wish Granted
No. I am not trying to lose weight. But even if that’s the case, whenever I see a link that says “weight loss supplements here“, I just can’t stop myself from clicking it. Force of habit probably. And speaking of weight, I’m so happy I’m close to meeting my weight goal. Such an early Christmas gift and I didn’t even have to kill myself over it. Thank you breastfeeding! You made one momma truly happy. Not mentioning one healthy baby to boot!
Shopping for Pants
I’m just loving equestrian clothing! I’ve been seeing these really cute riding pants from fab women at the mall and it’s all I can do to stop myself from asking where they got them. Then one morning, I saw a commercial of Australia and in it was Nicole Kidman, wearing the cutest equestrian pants. So now that I know what to call them, my first stop is Google so I can find something similar. However, the problem with buying pants online is you never know how it will fit. Which is why I am now itching to go to the local bazaars hoping that I can find a nice pair that will fit my expanding hips and thighs. Luckily, this style can hide all the ugly bulges!
Welcome December!
Started my December just right. First, I paid all of the items that I shopped for during Black Friday so I’m debt-free as of this writing. Next, I threw away most of our junk – bills, invoices, company letters, old and non-working appliances. Lastly, I balanced our checkbook and finalized my remaining Christmas list. So now I feel so organized, energized and excited knowing it’s only a few more days before my favorite holiday! How about you? Are you done with your Christmas shopping? I’m glad we started early so now we can just concentrate on buying stuff for Sandy and Meg.
Keep Your Handbags and Shoes!
Many moms think that once they have their kids everything has to change. They feel that it is time to turn in their handbags for diaper bags, and great shoes for flip flops. Though some changes are necessary, to be honest, huge lifestyle changes are usually not needed.
For example, just because you may need to carry around a diaper bag now does not mean that you can’t have a gorgeous handbag. Sure, you can shove all of your stuff in the diaper bag along with the baby’s things, but what about those times that you head out without the baby? Whether it’s a day out with the girls or a night out with your husband, eventually you will go out without the baby. When this happens, you will regret not having a great purse or handbag with you. Gearing up for Holiday Shopping
Some of the best shopping days of the year are right around the corner! The holiday shopping season means lots of crowds and best of all, lots of great deals. If you plan on starting your holiday shopping soon, this is my advice to make it a smoother, more enjoyable experience:
- Have a plan. If you are shopping on the major shopping days, like Black Friday, know in advance where you want to go and what you want to buy. Being organized will increase your chances of getting the items you want that tend to sell out quickly.
- Have a budget. No need to break the bank on holiday shopping. Make a budget ahead of time and stick with it. It’s easy to get caught up in the spirit of shopping and go overboard, but a budget can prevent that. Read more
Choosing a Christmas Gift for Your Wife
Choosing a gift for your wife at Christmas is a minefield – the expectations are high and if you get it wrong you will be hearing about it for a long time to come.
For this reason it is time for you to start thinking ahead and planning a gift that will leave her glowing with delight, instead of glowering with anger.
How Do I Know What my Wife Wants for Christmas?
Discovering what your wife wants is simple, if you open your ears and listen. When you are getting ready to go out for an evening together does she make comments about what she wishes she had to wear? If your wife says “I wish I had a bracelet that would go with this dress.” Then she is hinting that a gift from somewhere like Scott Kay is the way forward. Maybe she complains that she is running out of her favorite scent? In this case, all you need to do is get yourself along to the store and buy her a new bottle – or maybe a gift set featuring additional products with the fragrance that you know she loves.
