I finally found a great deal on music cd duplication for my client. I can rest easy for today and just do absolutely anything I want after lunch. That is, if the girls will let me. Whenever I want to do something for myself, either one of them will need me to do something, or simply want to breastfeed, as soon as my back hits the bed. So yes, depending on my wonderful, sometimes-hard-to-handle, yet still adorable bambinas, I may have a ME time by 1PM. If only I could lock myself inside one of the rooms here and pretend I’m not around. The husband tells me to do that exactly but the problem is as soon as I hear the kids laugh (or cry), my feet have a mind of their own. I’ll find myself checking them out, wanting to join the fun or comfort whoever is crying. That’s the life of a mom.

Everyday, I turn into mom from hell. I guess it’s expected when you have more than one kid. To those who remain peaceful while calmly disciplining their children, either you are high or only get to be with the kids a few hours a day. Okay, so that’s mean. Let me scratch that. I know some parents are very good at controlling their tempers but sad to say, I am not one of them. Imagine not being able to work because Meg wouldn’t sleep because when she was sleepy, Sandy will wake her up or Sandy will be cranky because she’s tired because when she was about to sleep, Meg will disturb her. I am always frustrated and most of the time stressed because I rarely meet my deliverables. To do damage control, when I catch myself frowning at something, I immediately try to smile to avoid wrinkles. Seriously, even Sandy laughs at me when she sees me do this. I badly need dermitage to smoothen my already aging face, thanks to them. And Meg isn’t even one year old. God knows how much worse it could get when she can actually throw a tantrum or fight with her Ate. Still, I’m not complaining that much. I know the good things outweigh the bad ones. Even as I write this, I can’t help but look at my girls and smile how blessed I am that I have them. And yes, even when they are “fighting”.

Just found some really nice customized picture frames that I could use for my niece’s baptism. At first, the mom (my cousin) wanted them as giveaways but it might be too expensive even if we just give it to the ladies. We came up with the idea of just buying at least 20 and then give it to godparents instead. The customized frames will work just right since we can either spell out the godparents names or have it engraved.

At 5 months, she can lie down on her tummy, roll around the bed without any assistance. She’s also starting to sit up, propped with pillows or with someone holding her arm. She looks at food and grabs them, so I’m thinking she’s about ready to have her first solids. Still a happy baby, always ready to laugh with anyone who’s willing to take time to play with her. Still not very good at sleeping through the night (or even 2 hours max) but always wakes up with a huge grin you just can’t help but forget about how tiring the previous night was.

Happy 5th Month Meg. We love you so much!

It seems every little boy I know has a psp these days. Kids are so lucky they can have toys that are as expensive as my previous mobile phone! I was close to buying Sandy her own psp too when I saw how she enjoys playing with her uncle’s. But then I realize at the last minute that it’s too pricey for a kid her age. She was only four at the time, after all. Also, whenever the Husband wants something for the same price, we discuss and compute our budget before we decide if we’ll even buy it. But when it comes to Sandy, all reasoning goes out of the window. Luckily, I was able to restrain myself. And I know I did the right thing after reading this article on how we should help the kids to maximize their creativity by giving them toys where they can pretend, build and think.

I wish there’s an easy way to get rid of blackheads on nose. I hate using those pore strips because I read somewhere that they only make the pores bigger. A trip to the dermatologist is out of the question, at least for now because I can’t leave Meg at home. She still refuses to take formula and I don’t have space for storing breast milk in our refrigerator. Anyway, I’ll just be more diligent in cleansing and moisturizing so I don’t have to worry about blackheads anymore. Next step – reducing the bags under my eyes. The darkness I can erase with a concealer but the extra baggage, that one is a bit of a challenge.

Oh my! There are so many good travel deals lately but all I can do is watch my online friends snag them and plan about their future lovely vacations. It’s hard to travel with a baby so I’m doing my best to restrain myself from booking any of them. There were plenty of times when I was close to finalizing the mock booking I’ve made but at the last minute, I was reminded of the number of luggage that we have to bring if ever we’ll go on a trip. It was absolute nightmare back when Sandy was a baby. There was no rest at all, for me that is. It wasn’t a vacation but merely a change of location. I still didn’t rest nor enjoy the great food that comes with every travel. So this time, we are going to wait until Meg is old enough.

I know it makes sense but every time I see a new great travel deal, I just can’t help but feel sad and envious. But now that I’ve said that, I don’t feel bad anymore. After all, wasting money is not in my vocabulary. We can have all the time in the world to book next year. And trust me, I WILL book with a vengeance!

I will need sleep aids soon if The Husband wouldn’t stop his snoring. His snores are louder when he’s tired which is why he sleeps in the other room whenever he comes home from a night out or a long tiring day at work. Lately however, we just couldn’t afford to sleep in separate rooms. Meg tends to wake up and play or cry, depending on her moods, in the middle of the night. So we need to go into parent-mode even if the last thing we want to do is get up and smile. Our roles are like this: I’ll carry Meg when she’s crying while The Husband tries his best to put Sandy back to sleep just in case she gets disturbed by Meg. It’s really hard having two kids. When one is awake, you bet the other one sleeping won’t stay that way for long. So really, it doesn’t help if the “third baby” is keeping you awake as well due to his snoring. Sleep is now a luxury and I’m more than willing to pay if only I can have a straight four-hour sleep.

My mother-in-law have always dreamed of having a girl. But after realizing that her third child was again, another boy, she knew it wasn’t going to happen. She loved her boys, no doubt about that, but her need to dress up pretty little girls was still there that she just decided to purchase a little 18 inch girl doll. She bought 18 inch doll clothes ranging from pajamas, dresses, jackets and even bathrobes for taking a bath. It was a little tricky finding the right size unlike when you have a life-sized doll, you can just dress it up with actual kids’ clothing. Since then, she bought a total of four dolls in different sizes which she takes care of as if it’s her own child. Would you believe she even brought her favorite doll to her friendly salon so they can fix its hairstyle? I’m sure that if given the chance, she would have a seamstress create a dress for her dolls that will match her outfit.

Fast forward, my mother-in-law has now three granddaughters and couldn’t ask for more. And as for her dolls, my daughter and her cousins love them to bits. In fact, they are buying outfits almost every two months now. They even like it better than their Barbie dolls because it seems real. My mother-in-law indulges them, of course, and helps in finding the right shoes that will go perfectly with the current outfit. The dolls have cheerleading outfits, cutesy swim wears, summer dresses, Hawaiian costumes, doctor coats and a collection of bags and accessories that will rival mine. It’s amazing how they never run out of ideas which I’m glad because that’s where creativity starts. Thanks to the dolls’ long hair, you can change the way they look without resorting to cutting their hair or worse, shaving their heads, which was popular back when I was a kid myself. I really I love watching the kids play-pretend. I prefer that they play with dolls than sit and play with video games the whole day.
