Can’t believe it has been two months already! I remember when it was Sandy’s 2nd month. It wasn’t this good and I was close to having a break down. I guess it really is easier the second time around but not necessarily less tiring.

At 2 months, Meg coos, giggles and blow bubbles when she’s excited. Her toothless grins are famous now and can totally erase any memory of a bad night. She’s getting heavy, thanks to breastmilk and doesn’t seem to have a bad case of cross-milk allergy unlike her Ate. She is amazing even when she’s not doing anything! Just a quick glance at her big thighs, chubby hands or big, bright eyes and all is forgotten.

Btw, we’re all getting better thanks to meds. The big Ate is having plenty of rests and food so I’m hoping the weight she lost will come back soon. I still miss her and the Husband though because they still sleep in the other room while she’s recuperating. A few more days and we’ll all be sleeping together again. I know it can be chaotic at times but I find it sad whenever I wake up in the middle of the night and it was just me and Meg.

Anyway – here are some photos (we got loads!) of my youngest baby. They say that the first three months is the hardest when it comes to taking care of a baby. This thought alone helps me get by at night and I’m so excited to prove that it really is true.

Happy 2nd Month our Little One! We love you so much and so happy that you came to our lives.

This is going to be quick. I’m still trying to juggle work and parenting so blogging is now taking a back seat. However, I just want to do an update to record the milestone of my youngest.

Here’s us (eye bags and all) during her first month birthday last July 23. She was wide awake while I was dressing her up but by the time her Papa started shooting, she decided she’d rather sleep.

See how cute she is? I am addicted to Meg and can’t stop kissing her small mouth and chubby cheeks.

Baby Meg with her Ate Sandy. These two are just adorable I find myself looking at their photos for hours. It’s a little tricky getting Ate Sandy to behave when Meg is sleeping but she tries her best. And Meg is such a happy and behaved little angel when she’s not looking for her my milk (which is more often than not).

That’s about it for now! I’ll be back soon with more photos. We have so many photos of her that I better start creating her first year photo book. We just couldn’t get enough of her, that’s for sure.

I know Halloween is not for a couple of months but I’m already checking out the Kids Costumes at HalloweenExpress.com. Why this early? It’s because for the past two Halloweens, I always shop until the last minute for Sandy. We always end up wearing a costume that is too generic or a DIY (see Harry Potter here). This time though, I want to try ordering online just like what my mommy friends do every year. We also have little Meg to dress up now so double the excitement!

For Sandy, I know she’d love this High School Musical Cheerleader or Hannah Montana costume. All of them around $34 or so. We could get her a blonde wig too if she wants. She’s at an age where she knows what she wants and gets to decide what to wear (with our approval, of course!).

For little Meg, I just couldn’t decide from the Tom Arma collection. All of them are sooo cute I know she’d look adorable wearing all of them. I just need to find the coolest costume as it can get very hot while trick or treating. Better yet, we’ll just use the costume for a photo shoot. I would love a baby gorilla but I doubt The Husband would have Meg wear one!

The lady bug is a cutie and the frog with the huge webbed feet is just irresistible! Even her Ate Sandy would love that costume on her.

Can you tell how excited I am? I spent a total of two hours just browsing through the nice costumes at HalloweenExpress.com. I even saw some really nice adult costumes that will be perfect for me and The Husband. I’ll just have to wait and see if our yearly Halloween Party with our friends will push through so we can decide who we’d like to be.

I’ve been having a hard time answering Sandy’s questions lately. Good thing her father is around so I can always tell her to “ask your papa”. Just some of the questions that’s troubling her mind. Some are easy but the follow up questions are mostly hard to explain/answer.

Mommy, what is a soul?

Mommy, will you be a lola when I become a mommy? How old will you be if I become a lola?

Will you die?

Where do dead people go? (If you say heaven, she’ll say …) How about those who died when someone shot them>

How did you make me? How did the baby go in your tummy?

Where did you live before this house? Where did you like living the best?

How come there are two boys kissing? (something she saw on cable)

Will you love the baby more than me when she comes out?

How does God look like?

There are more and as each day passes by, her questions are getting harder to answer. Her Papa prefers to answer her directly which can be too much for her sometimes so I always remind him not to confuse her.

Speaking of AMACO, they have proven again that they are a one-stop shop for all things art with their complete art lesson plans. One example is their ceramic art education.

A quick look shows some history and background, goals and objectives, step by step instruction, glossary of terms and detailed listing of supplies. For the supplies, most of them can be bought at the AMACO web site such as classroom ceramics, assorted brushes, liquid under glazes, tile setters, and many more. Just seeing the photos of the kids having fun with their ceramic projects just makes me so excited. When I was in grade school, we used to have fun making ceramics in our art class. It wasn’t high tech back then and we didn’t have all these great art materials. I’m sure it will now be easier and kids can be more creative because of the help of advanced art kits. Just see the photos below.

Sandy will be over the moon if she can create something like that. Art can really make a difference to kids. If you introduce them early and they liked it, it will be a great start to whatever they want to be when they grow up. Kids are creative by default and nurturing that creativity is one of the best things we can give them.

This is Sandy’s favorite game. If you’re the game master, you need to list four to five items that are similar or connected. The “contestant” will have to guess which one is the odd one out but it doesn’t end there. You need to enumerate the reasons why it’s the odd one. She plays this with everyone who’s willing but mostly, with her papa. Lately, it evolved into a drawing version. Both of them will take turns in drawing things and the contestant will put an x on the drawing for the odd one out. I try to beg off most of the time especially when I’m working but whenever I see how happy and excited she is, I just can’t help but stop whatever I’m doing and just play with her. As the contestant, she loves to think of reasons and as a game master, I love how she can come up with different kinds of items that are related. And even her drawings are so detailed with lines and shapes that I can’t help but laugh when I couldn’t recognize them anymore.

This was her writing and drawing.

I always urge her to ask her Papa to play with her instead. Aside from The Husband being more patient than I am, it serves as their bonding time at night.

Busy coming up with questions.

While her Papa is drawing for the next question, she always touch my tummy and wait for her little sister to kick. She then tells her how she wants to see her soon and how they will do all sorts of things.

My mother-in-law is looking into having wireless security systems in her home office. It used to be just an extra office for her but now that she closed her office in Makati, she’ll be working at home full time. With so many important legal stuff stored inside, it’s a must that she have something installed to protect it whenever she’s out of town.

On another note, our extra room is now ready with a bed and mattress. When Sandy saw it, she asked if that’s going to be her room and if so, can I please buy her a “VATINY” table and some jewelry boxes for her accessories? My oh, my. When I told her she can only play inside, not sleep, she threw a ladylike tantrum and wondered when will she ever get her own room so she can sleep on her own. As if! Even now that her bed is located beside ours, she still manages to move and sleep beside me in the middle of the night. When asked why she moved, she’ll say “because I want to embrace you”.

Sandy is looking more like her Papa everyday. Just look at the photos to see what I mean. However, on some days, and this could be just a result of my wishful thinking, people say that she’s starting to look like me.

It doesn’t matter who she looks like. Having her in our life is already a huge gift. In fact, I’d rather that her baby sister turns out to look exactly just like her. That way, I’ll have three Sherwins in my life. Of course, it will be a bonus if one of them grows up to be just like me – personality-wise.

Sandy: (sings to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle) Working working, working hard. Working hard all day all night. For the baby you work hard. Working working hard.

Shucks. Is that my talent really? Working hard? How boring!

———————————–

I always tell Sandy that she’s still a baby so it doesn’t matter if she wears a sando /tank top or just her undies inside the room. She refuses to do it maybe because I always have her close the bathroom door whenever I need to take a bath. Now that I’m pregnant, I always ask her to close the door to our room whenever I need to put all kinds of cream on my tummy.

ME: Sandy, can you please close our door?

Sandy: Why?

ME: I need to put lotion on my tummy

Sandy: So? it’s okay mommy, no one will see you. Just me.

ME: No, someone might come in.

Sandy: It’s okay mommy. They’ll just say “Congratulations, you have a baby!”

———————————–

Sandy: Mommy you know what I need for school?

ME: Nope, what?

Sandy: books, clothes, shoes, lunch box, pens and papers

Sandy: You know what Papa needs?

ME: What?

Sandy: You mommy! Papa needs you!
