Hongkong Disneyland – Day 1

We went to HK Disney last Jan 28th. I loved the weather there, not too cold as I feared and just very comfortable. Sandy loved Disneyland so much and no matter how tired or aching her knees were, she still walked and walked and wouldn’t want to go back to our hotel in Disneyland Hollywood.

Disneyland HK - Day 1

I like that my pregnancy wasn’t a hindrance at all to this travel. It’s Sandy’s last solo performance in the spotlight so we tried to make the most out of it.

Things I love:
The characters are just magical. Even adults will be mesmerized.
The shows – Golden Mickeys and Festival of the Lion King rules!
The weather, ramps for wheelchairs and strollers, small shops and Main Street

Things I hate:
The people. Ugh. So rude! They probably haven’t heard of falling in line before.
Expensive food. Okay, so there were plenty that costs 40-50HKD per meal but knowing The Husband and I, and now Sandy, it’s just not enough for us. We always end up eating at a restaurant or at the hotel which is really costly.

Disneyland was a little too expensive for me but seeing Sandy’s face light up whenever she sees a princess (more of this on Day 2) or any character, you’ll totally forget about the money. Her happiness is really priceless.

Here are some photos taken but you can browse for more on my Flickr account.

Things to Buy

The Husband wants a Samsung HDTV and that’s just one of the things from his wish lists. There’s a new air-conditioning unit for the baby, a PSP or Wii for him and Sandy and a trip to Singapore to watch Michael Schumacher race again. To think we are saving for pocket money for our HK trip this 28th! But in fairness to him, these are just his wishes and doesn’t really tell me to go ahead and buy them. He waits patiently until I feel bad for him :)

Healthy Living

Looking the best vitamins for men? Me too, well The Husband that is. He’s just so tired all the time even on weekends when we get to sleep in and have naps in the afternoon. I’m positive it has something to do with his diet. At least now he’s doing his best to exercise by hitting the treadmill every other day. Aside from vitamins or supplements, we’re thinking of staying away from pork and beef starting next week. It should be easy except thinking about different kinds of dishes for fish and chicken can get pretty tricky.

Sporting Goods for Everyone

that fits both his budget and needs. Luckily, I stumbled upon this Freestyle Shark Buzz for $74.95 while browsing for Tippmann Paintball Packages for a client. I should’ve tried more online shops that sell sporting goods but this one from zephyrpaintball.com is just perfect. If you’re looking for the lowest prices on paintball gears, you better check out this site. Aside from their very affordable items, they offer all kinds of freebies from monthly giveaways, free ground shipping, up to $50 rebates and plenty of clearance items.

Great Weekend

Just a quick round up:

- Worked non-stop from Friday to Saturday afternoon. I couldn’t believe I managed to finish three projects in two days. I was giving myself a mental pat when The Husband said that’s to be expected when someone works 14 hours a day.

- Watched Time Traveler’s Wife at Greenbelt 3. I saw an online friend (Mich) and old co-worker (Benjie) with his family. I cried buckets inside but you wouldn’t notice it except for the occasional dabs here and there on my eyes.

- After movie, we had dinner with our friends Cliff and Lorna at CYMA. Food was great as expected but the conversation was what made it a perfect night. Well, that and the alcohol.

– Sandy slept early with her Ate Arlene. It made me so thankful that we can now go out without needing to hurry back because she couldn’t sleep without us.

- Grocery shopping at Rustan’s yesterday. Bought a Filipiniana costume for Sandy as well.

- Twister fries are back.

- At 5PM, I took a much-needed nap. Did I mention I’ve been working like a horse for the past few days? The nap was amazing but at 6PM, I felt guilty so I tried rouse myself so I can spend some time with Sandy.

- After dinner and her homework, she slept without problems. I watched I Love You Man on my iPod while The Husband watched the race in the other room. Because of the movie (which was also good), I didn’t get to sleep until 2AM. This was the only downside because now I’m so sleepy the codes are starting to swim away and getting all blurry.

Failed Attempt to Exercise

An update about my latest project called “Losing Weight”. There’s actually no update. I did try the treadmill for even the machine refused to help. After walking for five minutes, it just died. I was half frustrated for getting dressed (put on running shoes actually) and making a few stretch exercises but also half relieved because I don’t have to continue running. A friend suggested ellipticals but I don’t have the budget nor the will to try anything new. I’m giving myself until next week so The Husband can also check what’s wrong with the treadmill. And while he’s at it, it won’t help to drop a few hints how he needs to work out to for the sole reason of “inspiring” me. ;)

MBAP Summer Getaway at Tagaytay Highlands

Just a quick roundup of our weekend. The MBAPS.

Side kwento: Sandy has been running a high fever since yesterday morning and having stomach pains. We went to the ER last night for some tests and she’s now under observation if the pain will worsen. So far she’s doing fine unlike yesterday when she wasn’t talking that much. You’d know she’s sick if she stops being her usual talkative self.

Anyway, back to the summer getaway:

  • Woke up at 6AM last Saturday hoping we’d reach Tagaytay early. We had so many activities in mind – animal farm, fishing, basketball, horseback, funicular. But I’ve forgotten so many things that we arrived at exactly 9AM and spent the first 30 minutes looking for a hotel where we can stay the night.
  • We reached TH 15 minutes before 10AM which was the scheduled time for the daddies’ basketball game. The zoo looks very well maintained and the fishes were amazing. Too bad I wasn’t able to take lots of photos because like I said, we’re running late and the other daddies were already “warming up” at the gym.
  • Basketball went pretty well. I think it was a great idea that we started with this activity so the daddies will bond too. That way, they will be energized and very much happy to take care of the kids in the afternoon. (yes, there was a hidden agenda) While they were playing ball, the mommies were doing what they know best – multitasking. We were either cheering the dads, taking photos and videos, playing with the kids while chatting at the same time.

  • All the kids went swimming except for Sandy, Joaqui and the babies. I’m not sure why Sandy didn’t want to swim but once she made up her mind, there’s no way that you can force her. She ended up drawing the entire day which was fine because at least, she was enjoying herself.

Toys for the Big Boys

The Husband saw a painting ball area when we went to Tagaytay Highlands yesterday. He wanted to try it out but we’ve already booked too many activities for the entire afternoon so he wasn’t able to. I told him to just go with my brother next week and he agreed, but not after asking if he can buy himself a planet eclipse ego gun. So I checked the site zephyrpaintball.com today because I heard they sell affordable paintball gears. Boy was I shocked when I found out how much a paintball gun cost. And this is from a site that offers clearance items and free shipping. To be fair, they are really much cheaper than other stores but there’s just no way I’m letting him buy a toy worth $400 and up. I’ll just get him a cheap airsoft gun or a nice goggle or a sling. He agreed to the goggle so quick which made me wonder if I was manipulated in some way.
