Mom, A.K.A “Bonus Hunter”

When trying to raise a family, especially a fairly large family, any little discount helps. As parents, we clip coupons, shop on the clearance rack, and generally keep an eye open for opportunities to save money, all so that we can give our children the best possible childhood. Perhaps that’s why, when I read a recent article Online about “bonus hunters” (people who hunt down the best online casino bonuses to make extra money), I felt the light of a kindred spirit spring into being. Therefore, I decided to investigate these bonus hunters, and online casino bonuses, a little more thoroughly.

The Prey:

After a quick Google search, it rapidly became apparent that there are several Websites devoted to helping people find the latest casino bonuses.
It also became obvious that there are several different types of bonuses and that not all of them were created equally. Some bonuses gave “credits” for playing specific games, which could be turned in for cash. However, the conversion rate was not very high (100 credits for $1 is not unusual) and you only got 1-3 credits per hand so that it seemed impossible that self-respecting bonus hunters should pursue this type of bonus. After all, although a 1-3% discount for playing their game is a nice gesture, you still probably won’t actually make money from it.

High Tech

Funny how Sandy loves to Google just about anything. I always make sure that I watch what she does online especially on Youtube as you never know what she could click. Anyway, I saw that she was Googling Garmin GPS and when I asked her why, she told me she heard about GPS from her classmate’s dad. Such a curious little lady! There are also searches on different continents and this last one which proves how girly girl she is – barbie musketeers. Even on her iTouch, she loves searching for things whether via App Store for new free games or in Safari for images of her favorite cartoon characters. I was worried as well that she may not like to read books anymore now that she found a way to learn things using the Internet. But I see that she still likes reading stories and just uses the computer because it’s fun.

Big and Fab

Who says you can’t look fab if you’re a plus-size? Check out these plus size dresses and tell me if they don’t look as good and perhaps even better than your average anorexic/model types.

I just love the green on these dresses that I might have to ask my mom to find a similar fabric for me. Of course, I don’t have their beautiful curves but with the right style and layers, I think I can pull it off. I can’t wait to show these to my friend who’s getting married this year.

On LSATs

Looking for LSAT prep courses that’s worth the price? I was helping my cousin-in-law search for affordable LSAT courses when we came across Knewton.com. The comparison table of the most popular LSAT prep courses on their homepage helped him a lot in his decision. If you’ll look at Knewton’s, you’d be surprised that at a much cheaper price, you still get more than what others are offering. My cousin said that his deciding factor were the membership length and the money-back guarantee. Check it out yourself and see if it can help you too.

Learn Via Web

More and more people are now pursuing higher education online. Just this morning, I came across a site that offers medical coding training courses over the Internet. I was a bit skeptical at first but when two of my friends decided to get their masteral degree through an online university, I can’t help but be impressed. Technology has come a long way that you can now get a degree or masteral without leaving your home or giving up work. This also gives me hope that if ever I find enough time, I may get a masteral on Creative Arts as well.

Why I Love Twitter

These are the reasons why Twitter is amazing.

I can read updates about my old friends, co-workers, even old bosses. It’s how I learned about my boss moving to a new loft. His latest tweet was about moving companies Los Angeles and how he’s starting to build his business again.

Gossip everywhere! Just follow E! Online, Perez Hilton and similar twitter accounts and be updated with the latest news on Hollywood. Better yet, follow celebrities such as Oprah, Ashton, Britney Spears, Lilo, Jennifer Aniston, John Mayer and many more.

I have two twitter accounts – one for networking and one for personal use which is private and for long-time blogger friends only. This way, I can separate personal comments/posts from my more technology-design-work-related tweets.

Did I say networking? You bet! I’ve had two design offers so far just by tweeting that I design websites. Amazing huh?

Learning new things everyday. From design trends to latest gadgets, to world news and money-making schemes, I get it all from Twitter. I only do my site hopping using twitter now so if you have something to say, better get one!

Caribbean Trip?

We still have not gone on with that family vacation we have been planning for since February. The weather has been unpredictable lately that it would just ruin our moods and waste time and money spent if we went ahead and it just rained. It doesn’t stop me from looking at great travel deals and amazing travel locations. I found out that there is a line of hotel resorts called Karisma Hotels along the Riviera Maya in the Caribbean that has a family-oriented resort – Azul Beach Hotel Resort! It is on a beautiful stretch of the Bahia Pentempich beach in Puerto Moreles, re-opened this season after being completely redesigned, and is the first boutique all-inclusive resort. With just 98 rooms, a gourmet-inclusive dining philosophy and many family-friendly amenities, Azul Beach Hotel offers families a new way to vacation. Parents are pampered with adult-sized indulgences as well as extras like strollers, cribs, baby milk heaters, beach games, coloring books, refrigerators for milk and medicines, and even kid-sized bathrobes.

A “Beautiful” Career

I’ve always wondered how different my life will be if I chose another career. Something fun and equally challenging, like fashion or beauty? I know someone who resigned from her job as a bank manager so she can pursue a career in hair and make up. She’s much happier now and although the pay isn’t as big because she just started, the rewards at the end of the day are much higher. If you have a passion for making people beautiful but don’t know where to begin, check out this list cosmotology schools and see if any is available near your place. The site also offers various articles like paying your way to school, which career in beauty is right for you, hottest trends and several beauty blogs that can help you improve your skill. There’s no such thing as being too old to change careers. It’s not everyday that you can tell yourself how happy you are that you love what you’re doing.

Saturday Six – Episode 272

1. If you know someone who is interested in you happens to be high maintenance, are you as likely to date them anyway?
I really don’t know because I’m the woman, I’m the one who is supposed to be “maintained”

2. Do you get more frustrated by your home being in a state of disarray or your workplace being in a state of disarray?
I work at home so the two needs to be organized all the time.

3. You decide to go to the grocery store where you don’t expect to run into anyone you know. How dressed up are you likely to get?
Jeans and a shirt.

4. Take the quiz: Are You High Maintenance?

You Are Low Maintenance

Compared to most people, you are incredibly easy going.

To be honest, you are truly a breath of fresh air.

You are open minded about trying new things, and you’re not upset when things don’t work out.

You are willing to go along to get along. And your attitude helps you truly enjoy life!

5. How important is it to you that the person you would date would be roughly “in your league” lookswise?
I haven’t thought of it before – I always go for who I want, not bound by “leagues”

6. Do you prefer spending more on a birthday gift for a close friend of having them spend more on a gift for you?
I like to give, so I’d spend more for a friend!

Addicted to Sports

Want to be updated with the latest news and information on your favorite sports team? AddictSports is just the site for you. True to its name, this forum is filled with sports addicts who spend their days posting about NFL picks, trade rumors, major/minor league talk, fantasy sports, and many more. It was my client who told me to take a quick look at this forum while I conceptualize with his sports website. He said I might learn a couple of useful information that will help me understands what he wants to do. And I did learn a lot about football. I usually space out whenever my husband and his friends talks about football but after visiting this forum, I just can’t help but butt in and surprise them with some of the rumors that I’ve just read. ;)
